I used to think that Israel had a right to exist but I am having second thoughts. Are you?

We constantly hear and see reports of the brutal and heavy-handed treatment of the Palestinians usually quite disproportinate to the action that is being punished. Stone-throwing youths being shot by tanks for example. Are you listening Israel? You are losing the sympathy and goodwill of the world.

Nah. Every one has the right to exist. But they should be held to the same standards of law and incrimination as everyone else

Palestinians should not throw stones, then they will not be shot at by tanks. It is that simple. If you have a pen in your hand, and you use it against another person, you are no longer civilian. So that other person can use any means to protect himself. This called self defence. Israel happend to have strongest and I'm sure the best army in the world. So that is why they do not throw stones back. If you have a gun in your pocket, you would not use pen if someone approches you with a knife.

I do not leave any comments, bad or good for both sides. I just want the situation there to get resolved piecefully as soon as possible. That is all.

I have similar feelings about Israel. Though I'm no expert, I think they ought to get out of the occupied territories and the West Bank, and stay on their side of the Jordan River. They're only making the Arab world hate them more virulently with their oppression and overkill. Every time the Israeli army uses its overwhelming force against Palestinian rock-throwers, Osama bin Laden gets hundreds of new recruits. And how vicious does a country have to be to make people sympathize with suicide-bombing terrorists? Pretty vicious, I think.

But Israel DOES have an unquestionable right to exist. After centuries of persecution and anti-Semitism, they need a place where they can be safe. America must continue to support Israel, but use its considerable influence to encourage more moderate policies towards Palestine.

Considering Muslim terrorists struck at yet another city - this time in India - I do not believe that Israel is losing any sympathy or good will. By the way, I really don't think they need either in order to kick some Palestinian and Lebanese butts.

The people of Israel were put there after WWII by Britain, Russia, France and the USA. Since they have been placed there they have been under constant attacks from their neighbors. That heavyhandedness is the only thing keeping them from getting destroyed. If terrorists would stop blowing themselves up, i.e. Hamas and now Hezbollah, Israel would feel at peace.

What I see is that people think that Israel does not have the right to defend itself, but if you look, all the militant Hamas group had to do was release 1 prisoner and there would not have been a response. They have not and now they are paying for it.

I say GO ISRAEL!!!! Get your people back and defend yourself.

I do agree to a point, but remember, not all of them are stone-throwing youths, some have rockets. And Israel is trying to finish this before more Arabic countries step into things. Israel is literally surrounded by enemies, and cannot fight equally now, because the time will come when they are outnumbered. They have to try to end it beforehand.

The jews got there *** kicked along long long time ago - so they fled Israel.. Then with the support of the USA after world war 2 they went back and took the land back with force. Its bullshit... Don't be absurd! Israel is completely surrounded by people that hate them. They are on a constant state of alert. They simply don't play around like the US does. When they are threatened they take action to protect their people, just as any country should do. They are constantly under terrorist attack. This is one of the reasons they have one of the most deadly military forces on the planet.

If the new Israeli premier had been smart he
would not have played "Say 'Uncle'" with Hamas
and would have instead announced that Israel
considered Hamas' declaration of cease fire with Israel to be de facto recognition.

WHATEVER! They do have a right ot exist! They are not p****ies like Americans are. When the Arabs attack them they should defend their own country. What are they supposed to do let everyone sh*t on them? But what about the terrorists that kill their people first? That's ok? Where is your thinking?
