To billyandgaby:

Homosexuality isn't natural? Are you aware that almost every mammalian species on earth demonstrates homosexual behavior?

Homosexuality may not lead to procreation (which is what people mean when they say it's 'not natural'), but it has long been used in the animal kingdom to provide security for a society, by providing care givers who are not interested in reproducing (because all of their effort goes into providing resources, rather than taking them to have children).

You should also be aware of scientific studies demonstrating that genetic changes take place IN THE WOMB that give rise to homosexuality, and that the mother's genes are responsible for these changes.

Intelligent people could never write discrimination into law by making it a Constitutional Amendment.

Which goes to show you how many of our politicians are not intelligent, since they even tried!

I do hope that there will be a 28th amendment. Divide 28 by 2 and you get 14. I think the 28th should repeal and replace the 14th. I think the 14th, especially section 1 -- which is the source of how the federal courts strike down virtually all our state and local laws -- is much too vague and that ambiguity has caused too much trouble in "constitutional law." And that includes the topic of gay marriage. I hope for a 28th amendment that would repeal the 14th and replace it with language that is much more clearly written.

I hope it won't be something moronic like the gay marriage ban or the flag burning ban, but those seem to be what the Republicans are determined to force on us. This is irresponsible and destructive. At one time, amendments were only for noble purposes (freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, etc.). Now the conservatives' attempts to legislate morality and religion (a horrific idea to start with) have deteriorated into pure bigotry.

I think the next constitutional amendment should about term and campaign spending limits for all politicans, not a ban on gay marriage. Marriage between a man and a woman is not "natural" it is a manmade construct.

Unquestionably, there will be a 28th Amendment someday.

The way our current Congress is working, it'll be on something stupid like Internet gambling.

Eventually there will be. I dont have any particular insite into what it might be. I would like to say the anti-gay marriage thing go through, but I doubt it well. (sorry if this is an insult for you, I just do not think it is natural. )
