Let me get this straight.
I can go into a bar, drink poison, engage in risky sexual behavior, potentially get into a fight over a game of pool, eat foods that are very bad for me, but you're concerned that I might get cancer from smoking?
Isn't that why you go to a bar in the first place?

Today it's the smokers, tomorrow your twinkies and cokes and bikinis and tatooes and anything else the tyrannical government zeroes in on. You dumb ****s just don't seem to understand, if they can target one segment of the population (called invidious discrimination, BTW) they can target another. You don't realize the terrible precedents being set. So I smoke. So what? I can bask in the satisfaction that you dumb ***s are next in line. We'll see how pious you are when it's your turn on the rack of government selected no-nos. You deserve what you get for not thinking this through, and you aren't real Americans. You're mind-controlled slaves. Sheep. And sheep are only good for two things - being shorn then being slaughtered. Goodbye America.

Statistics would disagree with you. In fact, businesses in areas where public smoking has been banned are posting large increases in business, instead of the predicted drop.
Personally, I'm mixed. I am severely allergic to cigarette smoke and will become violently ill when I even smell it. You would think I LOVE the bans on smoking in restaurants, bars, etc. And for my own selfish interests, I do.
At the same time, I think it should be the right of business owners to say whether smoking should be allowed in their establishment, not the law. If business owners want increased business, they can ban smoking. If they are, instead, very loyal to their smoking customers, that too is their right and who am I to argue with it? I'll find someplace else to eat/drink/play pool.

Yeah... ain't it wonderful... people with healthy lungs can go into bars now without having to smell some loser's cancer causing secondhand cigarette smoke stench.
Smokers don't seem to understand that smoking in a closed space AT ELEVATION can stink up the whole place... they don't understand it and they don't care, just so long as they can have their drug they don't care who they give cancer too.

But I'm sure there are any number of self-righteous anti-smoking zealots willing to tell you how much better it is since government intruded even further into private business and private lives.
If you're lucky, perhaps government can enact some laws to send you to re-education camp if you're not happy with them for protecting you from yourself.

Good debate,
In my opinion, smokers are still gonna smoke.
Nonsmokers are still gonna complain about it.
-I live in California now and we have the no smoking thing in all public buildings.
When we first moved here it did affect how much we went out, but we got over that in like 2 months.
-Newest laws here are banning smoking from the beaches. IT"S OUTSIDE !!
-Let's here the debate on that

Smoker's rights end at the tip of my nose. If they want to kill themselves, that's fine, but when they force me to share their deadly addiction, I draw the line. Anyone who smokes in the presence of a child should be charge with child abuse.
