I have tried to live the early, or fist part of my life in the way I was brought up and I had a Catholic upbringing. I wanted to live an honest life in all areas, including business. However, reality has shown me that to live in the world that we currently have it is impossible to live life along the lines laid out by Jesus Christ. Those of us who have been or who are "idealists" will never, ever be happy with life on this Earth because we will ALWAYS be dissapointed and let down. And, it will be impossible to build any businesses by being totally and utterly honest. One example of this is paying people a decent wage. Very often it is impossible to pay people a decent wage (and by that I mean higher than the minimum) because by doing so will mean that they company will not survive.

So, there is reality and idealism. I am now, unfortunately a realist because I want some happiness in this world. Opinions please.

How can I verify if someone is a U.S. citizen? Is there a database of some sort or a number that I can call? I have tried searching on Google but couldn't find anything. I would like to verify it myself instead of just asking the person to show me a passport. Thanks.

Near Detroit there was a drive by shooting. Two young people died and two more were shot. From what I hear on the radio they were all low life people doing/selling drugs. So who cares they are killed. I believe it is a good thing to get rid of people like that. The Police don't know who the shooter is but whoever they are I hope they get a medal.

Its looking more and more like Iraq is headed for civil war, so what is the next big Neocon lie in the sequence?

They have ties to Al Q
They are trying to get nukes
They have WMD
We are liberating them from a brutal dictator

What do they start to say once the public finally realizes our actions have killed more Iraqis than Saddam ever did?

Since so many of you think the US is a greedy, war-mongering, anti-minority, and just not a nice country, why is there a waiting list for people from EVERY OTHER country to immigrate here. Ya think maybe they know something you don't?

This is with referenct to the latest bomb blast in Mumbai. What iraq is to the united states, pakistan is to india.what AlQueida is to the united states,LeT is to India. What Osama bin laden is to the united states, Dawood Ibrahim is to india. Still we dont act.Indian Parliament should unanimously pass a resolution to derecognise the nation state of Pakistan. Future talk should be held not on Kashmir, but on if Pakistan as a state should exist or not. India should close the embassy in Pakistan. But will our politicians show enough courage and resolve to do it. I dont think so. We have spineless politicians.

Iraq gunmen seize 24 people, killing 20.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Gunmen ambushed a bus station Wednesday in a volatile town northeast of Baghdad, kidnapping two dozen people and killing all but four, authorities said, while a suicide bomber blew himself up in a restaurant in the capital.

The attackers drove up in several cars and seized 24 people from the bus station in Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad.

Iraqi Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Awad, the commander of the army's 5th division in the area, told state TV that 20 bodies had been found and the victims were Shiites. He said four people were rescued. Police confirmed that 20 bodies were found but said their identities were uncertain. The USA military was near the area but was unable to respond due to the Insurgents being so strong and well equipped and ready to fight like a tiger. The Insurgents have basic weapons but are able to take on and hurt the USA day in and day out.

Would you tackle him, run away, sound the alarm, jump on his back, punch him in the nuts, faint, panic, kill him? What action would you take. What action should we take if we spotted such a person? Should the government be giving us guidelines on what to do in such a situation? I THINK SO.

Do they think it will make the people of America feel more isolated, and therefore more "patriotic"

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country"

The recent attack in Kashmir in the morning and in Mumbai Trains in the evening on 11th July, killing innocent citizens by terrorists trained in Pakistan and Bangladesh has been condemned by all the leaders of the world. The Pakistan has condemned the killing in Mumbai only and no mention of kashmir killing has been stated by their spokesman on the TV. It simply establishes that Kashmir killing was sponsored by them and they do not condemn it at all.
The Indian Ministers and leaders also condemned it to fight back in our soil and they have no GUTS to destroy the training camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir or in Bangladesh. By announcing relief in cash the leaders are aliniating themselves from the masses. It is proved that the PM, HM are absolute bogus. They have failed again as a softest state in the World. The leaders are spineless and keen for Vote Banks only not for any welfare of the country and citizens.

Road to victory in Iraq 'unclear,' US auditors conclude by Maxim Kniazkov

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The investigative arm of the US Congress has openly questioned if victory in Iraq can be achieved without a significant overhaul of President George W. Bush's strategy, arguing the outcome of the war was presently "unclear".

The findings by the Government Accountability Office mark the first time a non-partisan US government agency publicly doubted whether the geo-strategic undertaking that Bush made the defining element of his presidency, could be successful.

"It is unclear how the United States will achieve its desired end-state in Iraq given the significant changes in the assumptions underlying the US strategy," the GAO wrote in its report unveiled Tuesday at a hearing in the House of Representatives. "We're not making headway" the GAO wrote. Also it appears the Marines and Army men are dying for a cause that will turn out to be worthless the GAO states.
