Something thats very topical at the moment With all the who-haa on the news yesterday. How much electricity do I need to run my house for a day?. Can you find it on the meter too? What is it measured in?

it varies from house to house..... depending on how many items on standby etc.. a good way is to take a meter reading in the morning.. then again at night.. and see how many kilowatts you are using... telephone your supplier and they will give you a conversion into pounds and pence.. even easier with a key meter..as it will tell you the exact amounts then and there...

A lot. If you turned off your TV set properly instaed of leaving it on stand by then it would reduce your bill significantly. Also only boiling exactly the amount of water what you need (eg for a cup of tea) in a kettle instead of filling it up reduces energy greatly.

TV's and other electricals left on stand-by account for approxiametly 10% of your annual energy bill.
