If abortion is murder and the death penalty is quite obviously murder, how can you defend one but not the other? Killing is killing no matter what the rationale.

My own opinion is that abortion does have a place in a free and liberal society. Not as a form of contraception, but where the mother has had no choice in the conception (rape etc..) or if the mother's life were to be endangered by the pregnancy. A blanket outlawing of abortion is ill conceived (excuse the pun) as it takes no account of the way the world really is. You may also push abortion underground where there are no safeguards for mother or baby.

Whilst the death penalty is unjustifiable in any circumstance - it does not act as a deterant as most crimminals do not believe they will be caught. Therefore it use can only be seen as society's retribution. Get it wrong and we all have blood on our hands.

If you have bothered to read all of this, then thank you. Now you have your say.

We are shunned for it. Most other countries use the fact that we have to follow these rules against us. Do you belive that the Geneva Convention is good for those who follow it, or for those who don't???

He works for a construction company, and his older brother also works there. The woman that owns the company and quite a few of the other employees, including his brother are Jehovah Witnesses. Well they are working on a government job and are supposed to be receiving gov't pay rates. Well him and another co-worker of his, that are not witnesses, are not receiving that rate. We recently moved into our own appt. and he couldn't hardley get his boss to give him time off so we could go and sign the lease together. His boss lets other workers get away with giving him attitude, and acts openly hostile to him sometimes. Am I imagining things or are they discriminating against him because he's not a witness? These things dont happen to his older brother, just him and this one other co-worker. What do you think he should do?

I see a lot of comments about the US being founded by European immigrants and how we should allow everyone to immigrate. Well, using the same logic, Mexico was founded by Spanish murderers who raped anything that moved and forced their religion upon a bunch of people who cut the hearts out of their enemies and offered them to the sun. If the US should allow all immigrants in, shouldn't Mexico allow all raping, human sacrificing sun worshippers into their country?

I realize that every answer I get will be a flame, but people really need to stop playing the whole 'America was built by immigrants, we should let all immigrants in'.

I was built from my father's sperm, but I sure as hell ain't letting anyone else's sperm enter me.

FLAME ON!!!

In periods of economic crisis or recession, politicians begin demanding more immigration controls, complaining that immigrants are wrecking “our” culture, stealing “our” jobs and services, and so on. These racist appeals are used to turn native-born workers against immigrants and thereby weaken their ability to organize collectively against the same enemy that exploits them both, and which deprives them both of decent services.

Your country seems to be very divided between NeoCons and liberals and Christians vs Atheists, PC and other stuff. Politically I seem to fall on the left and when it comes to God and stuff I am more to the right. Is there a Christian Left or Christian Liberals in the USA or only here outside of the USA. Bill Clinton and MLK are a couple of Christian Liberals.

I'm a little hurt to realize that so many of the Aborigenies call thamselves Native American simply because they have Aboriginie blood. Natives were here long before America was. Claiming that Aboriginies are the only Native Americans is illogical. Anyone born to an American citizen after America was established is a Native American. I live on a rez, but that's not what gives me the right to call myself Native American. I am Native American simply because I was born here to 2 American Citizens, 1 Scott, 1 Aboriginie. Being Red doesn't make me Native American, my birth right does. Black Elk would spit if someone called him a Native American and he was around when America was established. What's done is done, the Aboriginies lost their land and their lifestyle. My ancestors killed by Union Soldier buck shot were NOT Native American. I am an American Citizen with Scott/Sioux blood in my veins. I gave up the chip on my shoulder out of wisdom and for the sake of survival.
