I think everything is scripted. MTV's "reality shows" are the most obvious examples. I doubt TV courtrooms are any different

TV Courtrooms are both, they deal with real life cases, but the judge has a script.

It's scripted, though often based on real law or drawn from real cases. Courtroom procedures are FAR slower than shown on TV or in the movies, however!

If you are referring to Court TV, they are real-life cases. If you are referring to shows like Law & Order, they often get the law completely wrong. Shows like that do not come close to accurately portraying what real courtrooms are like.

I know it looks too ridiculous to be real. I think most of the networks start with an idea and script everything what happens as real TV. There is nothing real about it. Its like hype of 'Jerry springer'.

Script all the way. Do you really think that the law would aloud such idiotic judges? I've seen TV. judges like Judy and others verbally abuse people and make a complete sham of our laws.

Most are absolutely real cases, with a twist. The producers of the show pay for the judgement if the defendant doesn't pay up.

TV judges (im looking at you Judy) are well trained in the art of creating drama out of ordinary situations. They wouldn't be on TV if they couldn't
