In periods of economic crisis or recession, politicians begin demanding more immigration controls, complaining that immigrants are wrecking “our” culture, stealing “our” jobs and services, and so on. These racist appeals are used to turn native-born workers against immigrants and thereby weaken their ability to organize collectively against the same enemy that exploits them both, and which deprives them both of decent services.

You are incorrect about it helping the whole country; in an economy as big as that of the U.S., immigration--legal and illegal--is so tiny that it cannot have big effects, either negative or positive. Certainly, the effects are too small to be confidently measured.

OK, let me clue you in on how this works.
1. Illegal Immigrant enters country
2. Immigrant gets job because he asks for lower then minimum wage
3. Unemployment rate of Hard-working AMERICAN civilians rises
4. Taxes rise for us, but Immigrants don't have to pay them because they are being pain their salary's under the table.

This only concerns Illegal Immigrants, and not all of them, but most of them. They are over populating America worse then it already is and causing out unemployment rate to rise.

Plus, if I had to be completely honest, it wouldn't even be just that. It would be the fact that America as a whole cares about what is legal and what isn't. If they want to be in America then they should take the time to learn English and become a LEGAL CITIZEN! They are breaking the law!!!!! Just like any other criminal. Why is that so hard for people to understand? It's not about race. It's about this country and it's people and it's laws. If you want to believe that AMERICA is the criminal go ahead. But who is breaking the law? If a murderer planted some corn and caused a mass production of nourishing corn, they would still be a Murder.

Immigration quotas have been in place for a looongg time in this country. It's not something new. It's just that Mexicans don't give a rip about US Laws. I know lots of hardworking Europeans on HB 145 (?) work visa's that can't green cards, but continue to participate in the lottery and grumble that they should just quit the process and do what the Mexicans do.

And here's a question that just kills me. We are shipping jobs to Mexico every day. Amana closed it refrigeration plant in Galesburg, IL and moved it to Mexico. Transformers, capacitors, and a host of other products have been moved to Mexico because there is no EPA and you dump waste where you please.

So we ship good American jobs to Mexico and then millions more Mexicans come across the border to take more jobs.

What gives?? Don't Mexicans want good American jobs...???

Get down off ur soap box. How 'bout if we all just don't break the laws we already have in place? That's all we're asking. No one has a problem with legal immigration, just illegal immigration. You are so controled by the media that you don't even realize that this is just a scheme to bring Mexican workers to US companies that will then be able to pay them the same slave wages in the US without having to move their company south of the boarder. Wake up...

we are all little ones of immigrants contained in america of a. Even the community human beings looked from someplace. So, no, banning immigration isn't the answer. in reality, there is not any answer. each individual can arise with "solutions" of their head, what works desirable for them, blah blah blah...yet as you will discover, america of a authorities is doing genuinely no longer something about it! So, pass and make investments your recommendations in something else extra effective, like, scrapbooking, or searching after ferrel pets or something.

Can you ever just say " ILLEGAL" immigrants. I have no problem with those that come to America Legally. You seem to hold some kind of blind hatred for those immigrants here legally. Why is that? Why can't the countries that they come from provide a living wage for them to live on. It is pretty tiring to have everyone lean on good ole America to provide a living wage.
Also, why should we be supportive of criminal behavior??

America always has benefited from immigrants. It's the illegal aliens that are throwing the whole system into chaos. I personally am tired of letting them get away with their blatant disrespect for American laws. I vote to have all illegals removed, but only after paying hefty fines to pay for their deportation.

Minimal impact? $140,000,000,000.00?!? That's minimal? That's what the US taxpayers spend on these illegals in our country annually. Or how about $41,000,000,000 being pilfered from our treasury in funds being sent out to Latin America annually? Ease up on the crack pipe, son. It's having a "minimal" effect on your ability to think clearly.

They're not "racist appeals," they are lawmakers acting in America's best interests. Who benefits from immigration bans? We mainstream, normal, right-thinking, law-abiding, tax-paying Americna citizizens do, that';s who.
