He came across as the lesser evil of 2 bad choices.
Bush won because he came across as more honest and sincere then John Kerry to the average voter. Although it was not much of a choice in the eyes of most.
Given a campaign period of 30 days or more, Bush would beat Kerry again, perhaps even worse. It is not that he is good, it is that the democrats put forth people who the average voter does not trust on a human level.
If they nominate another divisive figure in 2008 (like Hilary Clinton) the democrats will lose again, no matter who the republicans run.
The US is so polarized that the last election was the first time someone (Bush) received an absolute majority of votes in 16 years.

For me he presented a clear stand on the issues. John Kerry to me didn't present a clear stand on the issues. I heard him say that there was a better way to do things but how? Bush wether I agreed with his policies or not I knew where he stood on the issues. I didn't have that great of an opinion of Kerry on some issues. John Kerry is catholic but on the issue of abortion he felt it was the choice of the woman. That to me shows a contridiction of ones values. Bush is against stemcell research and abortion. He is against gay marriage and whether the whole country likes it or not you know thats what he feels is right and he doesn't decide matters on popularity its obvious by his dismal approval rating. If a man believes in something he shouldn't alter his belief system to please the masses. I believe that Iraq has cost Bush a lot of approval and no one wants to see innocent people die needlessly. I guess only time will tell how history portrays him. I remember how so many condemned Bush Senior for not entering Bagdad the first Gulf War. I was one of them and now we all want to condemn Jr for "finishing" what should have been accomplished 10 yrs earlier. I don't think Bush is the best leader this country has ever had his adminastration has blundered so many things that its hard to keep up with them all. But overall I fear some leader that doesn't have a clear agenda. I can't see Kerry's wife as first lady either. Perhaps their campaign could have presented her and promoted her a little better I think many share my opinion as her being aloof and unable to relate to the general public the way Laura Bush does. If I had it to do again I would vote for Bush again.

hi! WHMADO. My recommendations President Bush is doing the desirable interest he knows how. He has made judgements for which he thinks are the desirable for the country on the possibility of no longer being waiting to thrill something else of the country. What human beings favor to keep in recommendations is that usa of america became minding its personal company even as it got here below attack on 9/11. This president has finished a good interest from letting it ensue back on domicile soil. I comprehend each individual is afraid yet concern gained't keep a terrorist attack from hitting the country back in some unspecified time sooner or later. Alert electorate free from concern and recognize for defense force and authorities will!!. i believe human beings favor to vote for consumer-friendly experience problem fixing devises . If human beings vote with emotional options the country is in difficulty. do no longer look on the guy look on the message. President Bush has kept the country so a options from attack. the version is a few human beings would truly be look after than free. that is extra efficient to be free than look after. President Bush has finished a good yet demanding interest. Take care!

Personally I voted for him for two reasons:
(1) Because I did not feel that it was fair to all parties involved in the peace negations and the rebuilding of the Iraq/Iran (where-ever) government to have to start over with a new president.
(2) Because it meant that Bush would be unable to run for president again.
We only gave Bush his first term in office so that he'd shut-up and stop being a sore-looser. Everyone knows that Gore legally won the election.

Because Kerry's platform was "don't vote for Bush, look how bad he is" rather than having a solid platform on his own. Seriously, the only reason I picked Kerry was because Bush lied and got us in a war for no reason, not because I thought Kerry would be a better president. We'll never know.

The answer is real easy to understand. #1 Many people liked Bush and thought that he had been doing a pretty good job. #2 A great many voters didn't like John Kerry for many reasons.

Because we don't have the option of voting AGAINST the other person. I think it would be a good idea because then whoever won would see how little they were voted for contrasting against how many voted for them. Wouldn't it be great to cast an anti-vote instead of voting for the opponent? It would then counter out on vote in favor of the candidate.

Because the majority of Americans are honest thinkers and hate trash-talking politics. The democrats are nothing but Blame-America-First whiners who trash and try to silence any opposition or opinion that doesn't agree with what they believe. That's why Americans got fed up with the dems. They are destroying themselves even today by saying that terrorists are entitled to the same rights as Americans (despite the fact that they want to KILL us all, they still deserve the same rights).
