And if they pay taxes should they also get the benefits of tax breaks. For instance if they are arrested...should the amount of time spent in jail count as lost wages and they get a business loss credit for this.? And should this also apply to paying of fines for arrests?

They are required to under law to pay taxes. It is not uncommon to go after people in such professions on tax evasion charges, when the DA really wants to lock them up.

Personally, I think the profession should be legalized and regulated. Such a move would tremendously reduce one vector for disease, and also prevent a lot of the physicial and emotional abuse that goes on. Clearly outlawing it doesn't make it go away, so you might as well live with it and remove as much crime and misery from it as possible.

I think that pimps and prostitutes should pay taxes after all it a business...

I also think prostitution should be legalized after all it is the oldest profession in the world.

People are going to have sex one way or the other....Besides Bush may be able to collect some more money for the Iraq war by making the profession legal. Maybe it would cut back on my tax dollars! LIL........

Well if Pimping and Prostitution were actually legal then yes they should pay taxes. Since by law, they are not supposed to do that, nor deal drugs, they can't exactly pay taxes on their income .

I think that they should pay taxes as soon as we remove the laws against prostitution. Until then, they pay "taxes" in all the bullshit they have to do to work and avoid the legal system.

Only if they are legal, they pay tax. It's hard to tax on them though, who know how many customers they have per day. Most people, not only those those 2 fields cheats on tax.

Yes!
It should be legalized, and taxed!
This might be the oldest business in history, and making it illegal was far too conservative and politically motivated, at best!
Legalizing it would make it easier for people to get checked regularly, and make it a safer environment for ladies, or guys to do their thing.

if they paid taxes, it would mean its legal so getting arrested wouldn't be a subject. the only place its legal is nevada. they must take medical exams and hold a special license. they deduct condoms, taxi rides, outfits, etc. if it was made legal, the states wouldn't have any debts. its more wide spread than any other crime.

Why not? The only problem with this is that they would have to list their professions on their tax returns, and it is illegal in most states. Wonder what they do in NV where it is legal?

Of course they should and we should make them legal . Then we will take it out of the hands of organized criminals , who are making millions . Plus there is a lot of diseases that could be cleaned up , if they had health rules to go by .
