My husband is in court today because someone said that he said something that he didn't say and they are calling it a terroristic threat (which is BS) hopefully he will be ok, but, if they do find him guilty, ... will they take him to jail today? Or bring him back later for a sentencing?

Looking through the posts on the Iraq war alot of people always claim their views represent the majority and prove it through protests ect. On the other hand other groups claim to have silent majority backing, people who agree but dont feel strongly enough to protest. How do people come about that they represent the majority?

I believe there are both people who just don't care what goes on, and those who don't know what's going on. But I feel that if everyone knew what really is going on they would all feel the same way.

I'm in Ireland so please don't say I'm against Bush. I'm against people who seek to take away our Human Rights and America is getting closer and closer to a policed state and martial law.

Here it from an American :-

I was just wondering because i heard someone said this and i want to know if it is true. If someone is on someone's property riding a dirt bike or four wheeler and gets hurt. would that person who got hurt be able to sue the person who property it is?..........even if you have no trespassing signs up?.... And if they dont have any insurance on the property would it come out of there pocket?..

My husband and I were out on our pontoon one night when he noticed our stern light had gone out behind where I'd been sitting on the back of the boat. I moved to the driver's seat while he tried to fix the light. A DNR Officer came up along side us. I'd been drinking. He assumed I'd been driving. Tried to fight it in court but jury believed "Officer of the Law". Now convicted of BUI and sentenced to wear a S.C.R.A.M. ankle bracelet that detects alcohol in my system.

I have no problem not drinking, but it's sooooooooo embarassing to have to wear this "Scarlet Letter" bacelet when I've never committed any crime in my life! Most people have never heard of S.C.R.A.M. and will assume I'm under House Arrest!

I know I shouldn't care what others thinks but it's summertime and I'd rather not spend it in pants. Any ideas for a lady to disguise this bulky thing while wearing a dress, shorts or a bikini?!?

I am the man who wrote a letter to President Nixon for this soldier who was from Greenville, Mississippi, since he knew I wrote poetry. He was killed in Loc Ninh, Vietnam on the twelfth, thirteenth, or the fourteenth of September of 1968. I am sure the family would like to have some closure; I am also sure the story I carry is not the same as the army version. It was obvious the upper echelon of the First Infantry Division was unhappy about the letter to President Nixon. But, there is even more to the story.

Muslims are always crying out against the British government but without them they'd most probably be deported by the public who views them with contempt if not outright hatred. They are the most insular culture on the face of the planet and they're views on other religions is diplorable. Why do they get so much freedom here when non-muslims are treated like **** in the middle east and other muslim countries.

I was forced to quit my last job due to me being singled out and my hours cut. I had worked my tush off for this company for nearly a year and I was targeted and still don't know why. I will not sign a statment saying that I quit since I am trying to get unemployment (yes you can get it if you were forced to quit due to cut backs) and they aren't being nice about it. I have spoken to the place that deals with Labor Laws and they sent me paperwork to fill out if they refuse to give me my check due to that. Still I'd like to know what everyone else would do if you were in this situation, please no smart as* answers. I am doing my best to take care of a family and am looking for a new job and didn't do anything to deserve to have my hours cut.

This might not be the right location to post but since I usually post in immigration, here goes:
The first permanent English colony was in Jamestown (in present day Virginia) in 1607. The Pilgrims didn't arrive until 1620 in present day Massachusetts.
I've notice A LOT of Hispanics get this wrong. It makes me suspect if they know anything about Hernando Cortez, the Aztecs, or their own Mexican history (for those of them who are Mexicans and not some other nationality). Anyway I digress.
Of course the first permanent European settlement in the present U.S. was St. Augustine, Florida.
Of course the first European to set foot in the present U.S. was Christopher Columbus (when he landed in Puerto Rico.) Well there are many historians who believe Lief Ericson made it as far south as the present U.S. circa 1000.
Of course the first European settlement in North America was started by Eric the Red circa 975.

Many basic rights taken for granted today were illegal and very unpopular in the not too distant past (interracial marriage, women voting) and were also labeled as blasphemy and against the word of God. Many of us find it hard to believe that the vast majority of people at those times were against these basic rights. Do you think we will view gay marriage/equality in this same light 100 years from now?

If they are still looking, I'm wondering why none have been found.

I've had more than enough of America's nutjob politics, and am considering a move to another country in a few years. Canada is obviously high on my list, but I'd like to know a little more about it's political climate. It can't possibly be as crazy as our's(America's). Thanks, in advance.
