I believe there are both people who just don't care what goes on, and those who don't know what's going on. But I feel that if everyone knew what really is going on they would all feel the same way.
I'm in Ireland so please don't say I'm against Bush. I'm against people who seek to take away our Human Rights and America is getting closer and closer to a policed state and martial law.
Here it from an American :-

Just something to add. It doesn't matter which side "Left" or "Right" gets into power they all will have the same agenda.

I agree. If people would really look, they would see a totally different story. Also, many people don't know the history behind what is happening now. If they did, maybe they would understand and not b**** about it so much. Excellent point.

I don't have time to watch the whole thing. I only watched the first 3 minutes. ARE YOU A MORON. Those were shot in a different country. America doesn't look like a desert. Yes, the police does have those tank looking swat vehicles, but what are the police supposed to do if a couple of guys with AK-47s rob a bank and start shooting everybody? If some terrorists start a huge shootout? They need that. There were some videos of a swat team breaking down a window. So? Police need to be able to do that in a hostage situation or something like that. True, the national guard is used sometime, but how else are you going to control a huge riot. This video is so bogus.

As an American I will try not to be offended by the implication that we are blind and/or stupid. There is a lot that goes on in this country and for most people they have their own causes that matter greatly to them. Regardless of political party, we all know that we are still the most free country in the world and we have a lot to be thankful for. If you honestly believe we live in a police state than you have never been to a communist country. I lived in West Germany when the wall was up and I can honestly say you have no clue as to how bad things can get! Count your blessings!

Some people don't know who to trust anymore. Each newspaper and tv station is biast to a certain view. No one can get the direct news anymore without it spun to the left or the right.
It really depends on the age level of the people as well, majority of teenagers do not care what's going on, and other people are just too wrapped up in their own lives to care, unless taxes get raised.

I just think that Americans most likely remain so busy and workaholic, that they don't even know who their current vice-president or mayor is. Most don't know where Colombia or Thailand are just because they have the time for all nonsensical stuff going on TV like American Idol, Survivor etc. that its very difficult to take time out to just read the newspapers, news on the Internet or just switch on to any news channels to watch for any information. That's why the whole world says that Americans just don't care what's going on in their own country or outside the USA.

Many are stupid. Many see glimmers of the truth and are nervous about it. Some have been speaking openly about it for years and seem to be demonized or ignored.
Most are helpless and impotent to make real change. Gerimandering and clever ploys have given control of the House and Senate to the republicans. Bush plays on fears and sells our future to big business.
Bad tiimes are coming.

I was born and raised in America, but i don't think of my-self as a US-citizen, but as a global citizen. I am ashamed of our U.S. government and what they are doing to our country and to the world. I wish more Americans wold feel shame instead of pride! I do think that we as Americans need to support the troops who are over in other countries because most of them really don't know what is going on. They still think we are there for WMD. I wish My countrymen would wake-up!!!!!!!!!!

I'm American, and I couldn't agree more. I used to try and convince people of what was happening to America, but they simply don't want to see it. It's gotten so bad, that I'm not sure that I'll be staying in America much longer.

I think the Americans are actually livin in a world of their own. Each one for himself and (unluckily) Bush for all. They fail to see the wrongs committed on them. They fail to see the future harm. They are just concerned bout the present and they will do anything to enhance it.

I think we are too politically incorrect sometimes. I dont think we are blind to it, but possibly not sure what to do. Our politicians lie and scandals abound. They say one thing to get elected and do the total opposite when they get in.
