My daughter has 2 map turtles and they have not eaten for 2 weeks, are they sick or are they hibernating? We just got them this summer so we are not sure what they do during the winter months. FYI we live in Canada

I'm trying to help get a pet red ear slider turtle a little healthier (it had been in cool water and was sluggish). I've raised RESs before, but never had one that wasn't healthy. We've slowly warmed the water (over a week) and he is responding well to that. He's eating lots more, and is much perkier.

When we prepared the tank a week and a half ago, I put in a Dr. Turtle Sulfa block (into 15 gal water in a 30 gal tank). It is already gone. With my turtles, I only would put a new one in when i cleaned the water, but since this guy might not be so healthy, should I put a new one in every time the old one disappears? How often ARE you supposed to replace these?

i bought two african dwarf frogs like a week and a half ago. the guy at the pet store didnt seem to know a lot, because he thought that bearded dragons didnt eat crickets. but when i picked out the frogs, he said these are two nice females. In my tank, i have seen them like swim on eachother, like they were mating. is it possible for them to lay eggs even though i think they r both females?

He has killed a sucker fish, and before this happened, I added a couple of snails to help clean up and he busted their shells and ate them. Everyone tells me they aren't suposed to be aggressive but he even bites me!

I have been wanting some sort of reptile for some time, but I have small children in my home and I really don't want to run the risk of anyone getting sick. I would prefer an animal that does not eat live prey.
