with blankets, toys, food, etc. Its not a very small area either. The reason is that he kept peeing all over the house and it has gotten pretty bad. Is it ok for me to put him in the kennel during the day and have him sleep in the apartment at night. I just cant stand the stains all over the house anymore. IS it mean or do alot of people raise their dogs like this. I still walk him everyday and play with him. Also is it ok for him to be whining so much. thanks

I have a male ferret that I suspect was abused before we got him. Found out afterward he'd been returned a month after being bought. Anyway, he's biting. And not nipping. I'm pretty sure the bitters won't work in this case. He's bitten me twice and drawn blood both times. A lot of it. Once on my finger (he'd messed in the corner so I was going to give him the 'no speech' and toss him in the cage) and he snapped when I went to pick him up. and the second time was just no. He hadn't done anything wrong and I was just holding him (which we do all the time) and he nuzzled around for a second and than launched himself at my nose (and obviously biting it). I'm not sure how to deal with this. Any suggestions?

Over and over I see families who can't buy their kids shoes or coats spending money buying poor animals that they then neglect. It makes me SICK. Why are some people so AWFUL and thoughtless about their animals? Are they just possessions, things to own and collect?

I feel that I am fairly educated but I will never close my mind to further knowledge as long as it is backed by Evidence.
Can anyone here give me solid facts backed up with links to medical reports to support the theory that waiting at least 6 months for spay/neuter is healthier on dogs and cats?
I would also welcome any and all medical reports showing the dangers of pediatric spay/neuter.
Conjecture is a fine thing... but I want proof via scientific studies.

raccoons or squirrels eat books, chocolate and coffee? Ive been hearing an animal in the attic for months now. Ive been moving boxes in preparation to move and i started going through some of them and saw the books were torn apart and it looks like some were eaten, clawed apart? Do squirrels or raccoons eat paper or books? Or did they use it for a nest maybe? the books are all torn apart.

I asked a question about about how I can resist my dogs begging for table scraps, I get some answers like "STOP GIVING HIM TABLE SCRAPS!! GEEZ!"... duh....That was the question.

Why can't some of you take a joke? Seriously! I know dogs do not hump each other because they are attracted to one another.

Some of you guys are so judgmental! If someone is doing one small thing wrong with their pet, you call them morons and that they shouldn't own a pet. Does that make you feel like a better pet "owner"?

The only reason someone deserves rudeness is when they are clearly and purposely harming their pets.

NO question on here is stupid. So don't act like it is common sense and be an *** about it.

You may not realize it, but those comments can hurt someone's feelings. It hurts mine when the answer isn't even directed to me.

I don't think I have read an advice question on here that didn't have a rude answer. God people, chill out.

We've just collected two gorgeous baby chinchillas.. they are both boys. One is beige, the last one born but is very confident and is always the first one to the door when it's open, he has quite large ears for the size of him and they're quite fluffy! The other one is grey, the first born, very placid, loves cuddles but is very shy and takes a bit of persuasion to come out of the cage. We don't have any ideas for their names and would like to call them something a little different! Can anyone out there help us?

I am unable to take him to the vet, and i am afraid he is going to die. If any one knows what i can do to help him feel better, please let me know! Is he going to die?

so we just found out recently my mom is allergic to most pet dander, and i love animals so i wanted to get a rabbit but the only way i can get one is if it can stay outside, in our in closed porch. the porch is not heated and still gets cold but it would be protected from drafts. I relize how big of a responsibility this is i have owned many pets which all lived happy lives and died of old age so all i want to know is if its true a rabbit can live comfortably in the cold? thank you for any answers!

As well, could i introduce my guniea pig to my rabbit, and would my rabbit hurt him?I just got him a week ago, so i really don't want either of them to get hurt. Thanks
