My neighbors leave their two Pomeranian dogs outside all day and all night when it gets down to 30 degrees (Fahrenheit). They have food and water and are on five foot leashes on a cement patio with a roof covering them (eight feet up) but only walls on two sides. They just sit out there and bark all day long. I called the humane society and they said that as long as there is a roof over them it isn't animal cruelty and they suggested that I call the police, but I know the police wont do anything. What should I do?

New kid is 2 days old. Momma & baby were doing very well. They had bonded and kid was nursing well. This evening hubby & I checked baby's navel. I had read in book you should put Iodine on it to help prevent infection. So we put some Iodine on baby's cord. Also had went by farm store and they had premixed colostrum with vitamins. Since it is so cold here I thought that might help give baby a boost. We got a small amount of it down baby. However when hubby sat baby down in stall, momma goat would not have anything to do with baby. She keeps pushing baby away. It has been several hours now and baby is crying for momma and vice versa yet they are in same stall. It is horrible because baby can't figure out why momma keeps pushing her away. Is there any way we can get momma to recognize her baby. Is it the Iodine smell that is causing her to push baby away? Please, Please help. We are really attached to this little baby. It is our first. (I guess you can tell that!)

I was going to get a dog or cat but I can't decide. I love both animals. I was thinking about raising them together. How do you raise a dog and cat together? If I get a puppy and kitten at the same time after they more likely to get along?

Hey there.

Well recently I posted a question in regard to my pet snail Brian. Brian my snail keeps on sneezing, which is a really weird thing for a snail to do. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know if I needed to contact a vet about it. I the end I decided to post on Yahoo Answers to get some advice from you guys.

A person suggested that I contact a snail breeder, and so I did.
He is a close friend of mine called Borris and lives around the corner, he was clueless as to why Brian was sneezing.

So I am still in need of advice. If anyone could give me any more advice I would much appreciate it. I am having a hard time in my life right now, Brian is driving me insane he keeps needing new things and I just cannot afford to keep buying new soil/snail toys for him.

I have had Brian for over 3yrs now. He looks up to me an awful lot, and I really want him to see me as a father figure.

If so, how effective is it, and how much? My little Yorkie and Springer Spaniel are escape artists, and they love to run down the street. I'm afraid that one day they're going to run away and never come back. I thought about a real fence, but I'm afraid they'll dig underneath it, and my community won't let me put sand bags underneath the fence. The invisible fence sseems like a good solution, but is it cost-effective, and most importantly, pet-effective?

This is a serious question.

I would like to raise exotic animals. I don't mean keep them as a pet in my house and make them do tricks, I would like to adopt animals like bears, etc and raise them in environments close to natural. Not like a zoo, but on land that I own. How do you go about adopting a bear? Is it legal? What are the regulations?

I am not looking to start a debate about whether or not people should have exotic animals. I would like information on how the process works and the legal stuff involved.

Why not get the next one or two from a shelter? Save yourself a few bucks and help stop mass breeders.

My 1 year-old Holland Lop loves to chew through wires... especially ones that are plugged in. I've bought him every toy in the book and he could care less about them. What kind of toy can I get him that would be similar to the rubber insulation of a wire, but isn't going to kill him?

She is normally at school with me, and she is fine. She relaxes on the cage floor and plays in her playpen for exercise, but I'm home for the holidays now and she is acting very strange. She is trying to throw her litter box, she is "peeing" (it's more than what she usually does--a huge puddle) and she won't flop down and relax like she usually does. Will this subside as she gets used to it? She has her hay and toys, I don't know what else to give her. What can I do?

I have heard alot of rumors about pet shops not being a safe place to purchase a pet. (namely, a dog). I have heard that they abuse the animals, and the constant contact with people makes the animals irritable, snippy and hyperactive or just the opposite.... fearful and timid.
Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Are these only myths, or do cases like these happen frequently?? If I decide to buy a puppy from the pet store in the mall, what would you suggest I do?

I have a male dwarf bunny that I've had for a couple months, so he's still pretty young. I was thinking about maybe getting him a friend. Do male bunnies fight? Would he get along better with a girl bunny if I got them neutered? And do they act like cats, being very territorial?

I have a late 2 year old APHA registered Stallion. He was born at the end of July in 2005. He's a massive boy already at the age of two. Both of his parents are freight trains and we went to TESKEY'S and got a saddle for him, and after trying several on him, came to the conclusion only a saddle with full quarter horse bars would fit him. If you have no clue what that means, in short term- he's a broad boy.
I'm going to show him in reining, cutting, and reined cowhorse work, but still have pondered the idea of gelding him. He has great bloodlines(He's a Peppy!) and is a great stallion with hardly any flaws in conformation. As a stallion my children ride him with no problems and he minds his manners around mares.
If I do geld him however with him being two and all and still having a few years to grow still, should he still broaden out like he would if I kept him a stallion. Both his parents are broad.
