no, but I have gotton a certificate stating that he is an emotional support animal, so I could bring him to a "no pets allowed" hotel.

edited to add:

My psychiatrist signed a paper that states that he is an emotional support dog. She reccomends that I have him with me because of mental and emotional disorders.

That does *not* make him a working/service dog.. I cannot use that to take him with me into other public places.. just for hotels/airlines etc.

sneaking pets (non service animals) into non pet hotels is considered a misdemonor in most states and is puishnal by a large fine or up to 30 days in jail if u can't pay the fine. Usually the fine is used to throughly clean the room top to bottom and replace all linens and the heat/air system filiter, all this to remove any pet dander that people can be allergic too. U could prolly ask to (sneak) a dog in quiety at the front desk of the non pet hotels as most must have a room for a service animal. There are several pet friendly nationwide hotel chains that i usually stay at. Best Westren, Clarion, Comfort Inn, Courtyard by Marriort, Econo Lodge, Holdiay Inn, Main Stay, Motel 6, Red Roof Inn, Basically anything by marriot. I would recommend those instead of breaking the law. I know some indivdual franishes deny pets even in these hotels, my best luck has been with Holiday Inn and Red Roof, both are generally pet friendly and have been for a while. Marriott is great too but out of my price range.

NO, I've been up front about pets right from the start, asking if it was ok. I haven't been turned down from the places I was at.

The hotel has to know, if they get someone highly allergic to animals (as well as to smokers, remember they have smoke free rooms), this can cause them major problems if someone has a breathing attack when staying in the room right after you.

Be up front about it. You can also go online and look for those pet-friendly hotels around the country, there are several sites that list places in each state that people can travel with their dogs.

no, we stay at the not so fancy hotels so that our dogs are allowed to come with us when we go on trips, if you are thinking about sneaking your dog in i wouldnt advise it there could be a very large fine, and you will most likely get kicked out of the hotel, possibly banned
