we saw a wolf or dog tied up to a tree in our back woods with a gun shot through its gut.
is that legal.

doubt it was a wolf, maybe a coyote, but there aint nothing you can do for it and i doubt there is anything you can do to the person fer shooting it especially if you dont know who done it... if ur gonna kill a critter i'd suspect you'd atleast keep the hide and if not the meat to give it away.

No it's not legal. A dog being tied to a tree and shot would be animal cruelty and it doesn't matter where you live it's still illegal. I would contact the animal cops right away so they can find out who did that.

You should have called the local humane society or animal control as soon as you saw this. You may still want to call and let them know what you saw so they can check out the property of where it happened.

That's illegal. You should call and report it. They might not be able to catch the person or people that did it, but they should be made aware of the situation and the body should be disposed of properly. That's so cruel to do something like that to an animal.

no it is not legal if the person who did this unlawfal crime was found they would be sent to prison for animal cruelty no matter what the dog or wolfe did wrong

No that is not legal. Please call the sheriff's dept & tell them what you saw & where it is. People who do that may come to your home. Scary! This inhumane & cruel & abuse. Do the right thing! Make the call right away.
