The second question in my pet rat saga: The name. What name would be best for a pet rat?
I've only got a few:
Smuntz,
B.J.,
Cochran,
Templeton,
Maus,
Ratatouille,
Reggiano,
Feel free to pick from these or suggest your own.

I am interested in eventually getting a pet. I have heard a lot about the intelligence of rats and mice. But I have a few questions that I are a bit unique.
First of all which of the two is friendliest?
What about most intelligent?
What about the largest?
Could I let it rome around my house?
Will it sit on my shoulder?
How long does it take to train them?
Can they be trained to use a litter box?
Is there a specific breed I should choose?
Do the females have different attitudes than the males?
What are the prices for buying and maintaining them?
What foods are they allowed to eat?
Is there love of cheese a stereotype?
They live for such a short time, is it worth it? I mean THREE YEARS TOPS?!

I know there are a lot of devoted rodent owners out there and I am looking forward to your responses, it could mean the difference between me getting a rat or a cat ( can't have it both ways ;-) )

If its not too much trouble, could I have some additional information about owning a roden

they cant because people kill them and most of the time dogs and cats and all kinds of pets that can be in the house what really happens is they stay alive more longer then all the ether ones because they live with people and the people take care of them. we live longer because we stay hethy and keep are selfs safe so that is what happens!!!!

I am thinking of getting 2 ferrets and cannot decide on 2 girls, 2 boys, or one of each. i have done alot of research on ferrets because i didn't want to buy them and find out that i had no idea what i was getting myself into. so far i know that male ferrets are larger and smell worse. so i was thinking i should get female ferrets (i know female ferrets smell too, but they don't smell as bad right?) but then i was wondering about female problems. i read that female ferrets can die if they don't have a mate. would this be an isue if i had them spayed? i have gone to many many websites and i have found mixed answers. i'm just worried about the female ferrets going into heat. does this happen to ferrets who have been spayed? also, i was thinking i might just get a boy and a girl and then i won't have to deal with this confusion, but alot of people said that their male and female ferrets don't get along. so who is more likely to get along, 2 boys, 2 girls, or a boy and a girl?
thank you!

Sirius destroys EVERYTHING that crosses his path. He is an 18 month old Labrador and I have tried EVERYTHING that I have come across. He killed the Kong toys (the big one) in under an hour. I am running out of patience (not to mention money!) trying to keep him in toys.

Anyone know of anything else to try?

Thanks.

My poor hammie! The sore is about the size of a small raisin from what I can tell. It looks like it has been bleeding. I use the recommended bedding for dwarf hamsters and her diet is a pellet/seed mix. I have had her for almost 2 months with no problems. I have another female hamster in there that is fine and they were purchased together and get along fine. I don't think she scratched herself because of where the sore is. Is it ringworm? or maybe the other hamster nipped her? Any thoughts on what it might be are appreciated and any home remedies are welcomed.
