i have 2 hamster which i thought were both boys. today i came home 2 six little bundles of joy. i have no idea what to do!!!! i havnt touched the babies or cage incase but i really need help. also one of the babies is outside the nest alone but moving. the mother hasnt moved it or tryed to feed it. will it starve???
help!! thnx a million

like everyone already said, do not handle them. make sure they have plenty of rest. this should go on for about 2 weeks until the mother and babies are comfortable because the mother tends to kill or even eat her babies if she feels they are too troublesome or if she sees you handling them. also, separate them from the father. i read that he will try to be a good father but the mother may try to keep him away. sometimes it can result in mother or father being killed which will everyone miserable. so, separate them. if you need any more help, try this website.

First of all, remove the male.

Secondly, do not touch them or the cage for 3 weeks. Don't even clean it.

Also for future reference hamsters are solitary animals, and if it had been 2 boys they would have killed each other.

When you bought the hamster, you cant base it on how it looks boy/girl. you have to ask the pet store people.

watever u do... do not touch the baibes. the mothers instincts will kick in... and make sure u take the father out he will eat the babies..
