Is it weird to cry when a pet dies?

No it is not weird. Pets are Family and I cried a waterfall when brother/best friend/ protector who I have had for 14yrs ever since i was born died. I still cry when i think of him but not that much now just alittle but happy tears now because i know he is still with me and happy now

If that were so, then I am the WEIRDEST person on Earth. My Yellow Lab died 3 years ago, my cat died in February. I cry to this day. They pop into your head, so you won't forget them and that makes you cry. You see an old toy, and that makes you cry. NO, CRYING WHEN A PET DIES IS NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE WEIRD!
It's because you "hurt" and miss them terribly.
Then along comes another pet that needs you and you put yourself all through it again.

NO! A pet is like part of your family. When a family member dies you cry too! You show how much you cared for it and how much you will miss it. It's definatley not weird.

I think it's perfectly understandable. A pet is their own little person in a way and a big part of your family.

NO!!! If he was part of your family and hey ,you must be at least friends with your pet. would it be wierd to cry if your friend died

No, I consider it very natural, it has probably been a very important part of your life and with anything that significant, it deserves a good cry.

i have had my parakeet die recently so no it's not weird to cry when your pet dies

no I cried a week when my dog died of couse I had him for over 7yrs and had had him from brith. I know I would bawl my eyes if red my horse dies.

Omg heck no! I cried when my guinea pig died! It's your family member! Never think its wrong! Its hard to cope with. It's way normal!

No, I am a male, and I remember when one of my cats that was really closed to me died I cried like a baby. I really was closed to that animal. I miss(ed) him dearly.
