I dont think that is silly at all.. I really miss my lil bunny..
I have pictures of her here at work so when i look at them from time to time i soo miss her and cant wait to get home to her...
I thought i was silly but i think that can be part of having a pet and caring about them...
I love and adore my bunny. At first i didnt' even want her but know i cant see my life without her..
She has such a special personality that i would not get with a dog or a cat... I love her and i try to let her know everyday!!!

Not at all. Look at it this way -- would you miss a person you liked? You and your cat interact with each other, have a relationship. It's not like you said, "When I'm out, I really miss my the mat in front of my bathtub." This is a living, breathing individual who plays a part in your life, so if you have a good relationship with your cat, natural to miss him/her. Wouldn't imagine you have as much interaction with your snail, so when it's not around, it doesn't leave as much of a hole.

Awww, you're a sweet one aren't you?! It's not silly at all! Cats are gorgeous, lovely, sweet, friendly creatures who often follow you around and sit on your lap and look at you with adoring eyes! And they obvioulsy miss you when you're asleep, because my God, are they happy when you wake up! They are like little best friends - it would be worse if you didn't miss them!
I always miss my cat too. I only see him every 2 weeks because he lives with my boyfriend, far away from me! So when I finally get to see him, I don't want to leave him!
I once told my boyfriend that I wished there was a way to put cameras in the house and check in on him to make sure he is ok! Now that's silly! ;-)

When i first had my kitten i hated leaving her and made my mum come round and sit with her for 9 hours every day while i was at work..lol

id would love to say yes but my cat is evil and does nothing appart from pounce on my legs with his claws out so no i dont miss him.

Heck yes, I have two Jack Russells and they love going everywhere with me, and when I have to go to school think about them alot.
And when I leave them in the car, they beep the horn. :D
