when i ask questions or research resolved questions on YA, involving rats, all i get is negative answers. why are people such bigots, and anti-rat? i don't know why they answer the question, especially since theyre not answering it, they're just putting it down. has anyone else had this problem? its really annoying.

Im introducing my 2 gerbils bob(boy) and Vanilla(girl )for the first time. I have switched their bedding around and switched cages and everything so that they can get used 2 eachothers scent. Vanilla has groomed Bob so far and doesnt realy seem 2 mind him, but bob seems really nervous. They have both tussled a bit, and run around and rolled with eachother. The movements seemed really fast and spontaeneos when they did this, and Im not sure if it was fighting of not. I didn't hear any squeaks. Should I separate them or are they just playing? (Thay have just met each other)

I have no idea what type of bunny she might be, or if she's just a mutt, but I'm just curious as if to anyone has an idea. She's an albino dwarf with long hair.

I am wanting to get a hamster but I would like to know what hamster owners think about them: pros vs cons, which breed is best, male or female, cages, food, litter, EVERYTHING! I've had gerbils, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, is a hamster simular?

I was given gerbil two weeks ago, they had said the gerbil was with a large amount of other gerbils, well about seven days ago I noticed she was looking really plump now she is very fat.. I've been thinking she was pregnant since the first time she has looked plump, however I have read just a few days before labor they are to look pregnant.. so how many more days until she has these babies? And what can I do to prevent her from eating them?

I have a friend that has one and I have just come to love him. But I can't get ahold of her to find out where she got it from. So if anybody knows of anybody selling them I would appreiate it if you could notify me.

I have a 4 year old dutch rabbit and I will be moving in with my sister this summer. She just got a beagle puppy. I stayed with my sister over the holidays and brought my rabbit with me. We had to keep the two of them separated because she was running around my rabbit's pen, getting too excited and rowdy. I'm not sure if my rabbit was scared or just annoyed...she charged the puppy a few times but did not try to bite.

I'm just wondering how this is going to work out when I move in with her. Should I keep them separate until the puppy is grown up and more calm, or should I try to socialize them now? The puppy will still be about 9 months this summer.

Also, my BF used to hunt rabbits with his uncle's beagles. He is convinced that my rabbit and my sister's beagle will never get along. Is this true? I tried to explain to him that there is a difference between them being indoors together vs. being outdoors in a more natural environment.

What do you think?

I know how they get on animals but where exactly do they come from or where do they live before they get on an animal. Also, can they live on humans?
