Does anyone have one or have you ridden in one? I really want to buy one, but I first want to know if they are comfortable and put the rider in a good position. Thanks.
PS- I will not be getting the CAIR system.

I have had one before. They are great for training. The ones with the knee roles are excellent. They are soft and comfortable. Nice for jumping, too. The one thing of course, is that they will not hold up as long as the alternative. They are super easy to keep clean and are very low maintenance. For comfort, you can't beat it! They are decent for keeping you in a good position. I mean, next to a Pessoa or other super high end saddle, they are fair. Good value for the money and I think they are worth it. They can even be used at lower level shows if you need them too. Hope this helps.

I will NEVER own a wintec saddle. I have used both the western and all purpose saddles made by wintec and the were the most uncomfortable things ever. The all purpose saddle other than the fact that the fabric horribly chaffed my leg (and I was wearing half chaps) it doesn't provide the natrual feel and connection with the horse. Leather molds to your body and your horses for better communication and fit. Leather also provides a better grip to keep your leg still and your seat sound. I also have a grey horse and the wintec material is just a giant hair holder. The only way to get all of the stark white hair out of the black saddle is with duct tape, and it is endless. If you just want a cheap saddle to hack around in I guess they're fine, but if you plan on doing any sort of training or competition, I would save up for a nice leather saddle. You don't have to get the Pessoa or anything, I love my collegnt. Best of luck to you.

They are a great saddle for training and schooling in.
I have ridden in one and they are very comfortable and easy to maintain. They can be hosed off and are so easy to care for. They hold up well and for hte money they are great.
The CAIR system is very nice if you ride different horses or your is really out of shape and will change shape as you work more.If not the regular ones are good. The easy change gullet system is great ifyou ride different horses also.
As far a good seat position that comes from riding practice and working at it more than the saddle itself.
They are a good saddle for all wround working and can be used for jumping as well as some dressage and stuff like that. I like them as I do some dressage and some jumping and some cross country stuff so they make a nice all around saddle at a reasonable cost.

I have ridden in a really old version of that saddle and it was wonderfully comfortable (so old, that it came in royal blue!!). It depends on your position when you ride as some people do better in a deep seat and some in a more close contact type seat. Maybe check with your coach/instructor which saddle would be best and of course that it will fit your horse (I had a wide-backed morgan and so I had to make sure the saddle fit her first, then me).

I got the wintec 2000 and loved it..........comfy, great position.....I think the difference is that the 500 does not have a suede seat............I really like the suede seat...I think you can change the knee rolls.....Had mine for 3/4 a year....love it!
wintec also has a close contact saddle and pro-jump saddle too...
If you are looking for a synthetic saddle.....weaver....thorogood.....courbette........and kincade all have synthetic or "ready-ride" saddles.............I don't know much about them though......
