No not at all! My mom is 48 years old and she has alot of Guinea Pigs(she got her first one when she was 42 years old) I have a couple of Guinea Pigs and I'm 17 years old. People wont think your wired or gay. They will think that you are a person that cares about animals, witch is Good. I even know my Moms friend, she is 45 years old and she has 6 Guinea Pigs. I hope that help.

Lots of people who own Guinea Pigs, no I have yet to find a person who thinks my best friend (who is a guy and owns a guinea pig) weird or gay. So you have nothing to really worry about. It is a pet and lots of people own pets.

Anyone who thinks you're weird or gay because of the pets you own obviously hasnt matured mentally yet and arent even worth hanging out with. Its a pet. If you want one, get one. Dont let what other people might think stop you from getting one if you really want one.

Anyways. No. The people that you regularly talk to will know that you are not weird or "gay" and how would the other ones even find out? And if they think it's strange, what the biz anyways, they're not your friends.

don't worry what others think.......... i live in FL, & there's this young guy on the news (looks like 25) & he actually posted a dedication to his dead hamster, who he apparently cared very much for, on the news! i thought it was kinda sweet, maybe a little extreme tho........ but he said something about roomates, so i guess "the guys" weren't too bad about him having a hamster........ go for it, if a cavy is what u truly want........i'm a girl, & i LOVE snakes (still trying to convince my hubby) some people think i'm weird (but usually they are just opposed to the idea of snakes, not so much of me being a female & wanting a snake) but i don't really care what other people say

Who cares what people think? I think it's wonderful that you want to take care of an animal and love it. I think being an animal-lover is a very attractive quality in a person.
