yes they do...not badly but enough to stop predators biting them

There's different types of hedgehogs and they each have different types of spikes. There's larger ones with less pointy spikes, those are the types you'd usually see in commercials or anything that would be showing them to the public. They look cuter too. Then there's smaller ones that are about the size of a tennis ball which have very sharp, pointy spikes and they're kinda uglier lol. You'd have to definitely find the right kind if you're worried about spikes.

Do you mean as pets? Because I've heard of a lot of people as having little hedgehogs as pets.

They don't really hurt, hedgehogs will lay them down when they are calm. They do prick a little and sometimes your hands will itch for a little while after holding one.
