Im really concerned about my dog, it being chritmas and all Il have to wait to call the vet. anyway, she was spayed on dec 14. I have been giving her her antibiotics and she had pain meds the first few days. I just noticed yesterday that around her stiches she has a red rash. Her stitches look fine, no ozing or anything. But tonight she has been acting out, she wants alot of attention and shes shivering a little bit. I know the rash iss bothering her because she keeps licking it. It feels very hot to the touch. She gets her stitches out on wed. just would like some advice for now.. Thank you, sorry so long. and happy holidays to al

my daughter was getting a book from her bookshelf to read for bed and left the door open. the dog slipped out and before we could catch her, she snagged the brownie off of santa's plate. the chocolate chip cookies were still there, but the 2 inch square peanut butter chocolate brownie was gone, and she was licking her lips. is she going to be ok? was it enough to seriously hurt her? she's asleep in my bed right now. she seems to be ok, for now. i'm going to stay up for a while and keep an eye on her. i'm just worried. thanks.

I tried to pick up my dog just after she died, and I could hardly pick her up to move her. Is there something physiological that happens during the decaying process to make them heavier?

I have a miniature schnauzer that I adopted last year at the age three, his former owner had younge children but the dog never got along with them but now when ever my grandchildren come over he trys to attack their feet. The kids keep their distance form the dog but even if their just walking the dog will attack their feet and of course the children scream. They aren't doing anything to really cause the dog to attack so now the children are terrified of the dog. The dog gets along perfectly with my 15 year old. There ages are 10, 7 and 5. Is their any advice you could give me to calm the dog down or stop this from happening.

My dog has fleas and flea bites all over his body, and I know my apartment has to be infested with them. I want to flea bomb the apartment but don't know what kind works the best. I also want to give my dog capstar but not sure where to get it. Can I only get it through a vet or are there any stores where I can get it?

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, would it be smart to set off flea bombs in each of the rooms and the living room? If I put a flea bomb off in a bedroom should I leave the sheets on and then take them off after and wash? Or should I take them off before? Also is there a special treatment I'd have to get to clean my furniture after I flea bomb?

Thank you all in advance for your answers, I have never had to deal with a flea infestation before and want to make sure I do everything right.

I've got my pup i believe 3 days ago and its about 4 weeks old its really young and i know its not supposed to be away from its mother. I just really need some advice. Its always yelping, whimpering, and whining whenever i put it its cage or i leave it alone. Ive tryed everything from giving her rewards when she goes inside, I praise her when she does, im not mean to her, and i tryed ignoring her but its so loud its giving me a headache. I dont want to give it away and it only stops whining when it get exhausted from yelping and then when it wakes up again it starts going at it again. Its been even biting the cage and i tryed giving her toys and things to keep her occupied but she doesnt even touch it. Or is it maybe its cold, needs some attention, needs to go pee, or eat I really don't know. It also stops when i take it out to walk or play with her and that's about it and even after that she keeps going at it after shes in a cage. Anything that will help her stop and so i can manage.

Yesterday a loose dog was racing around our area for an hour and a half, chasing the neighbor's dog up to the front porch, dodging in and out of traffic, running full tilt everywhere. I was out shoveling and she ran to me, past me into the back yard, back out again, down 2 blocks (pretty much flying), turned and raced back...........

I hadn't seen this dog in the area before, never seen this one being walked, when it ran to the highway I called her back. Fed her a hamburger and got a rope on her. Her back foot was bleeding from a cut on the ice, and she seemed pretty friendly, but no owner was out looking. I waited for half an hour and then got her into my car and took her over to animal control as a 'lost dog'. No collar on her, hopefully she was microchipped. Her toenails were nicely trimmed, but she was filthy and stunk.

What could be wrong?
I have a 2 year old Black Lab. Here recently he has killed TWO small house dogs. They weren't ours, they where our neighbors. He has attempted to bite people he doesn't know but he has never attempted to hurt another animal besides playing. His sister, who our friend owns isn't like this at all. He hasn't been "fixed" and he's a little late on his shots. And for some people out there my dog is fed good and where I am from you cannot sue someone for a reason like that. We have also talked it over with the neighbor's and they said that as long as we watched him that it would be fine. My dog doesn't stay tied up because he breaks all of his chains and I dont believe in making a dog live on a chain. Its wrong and I would rather have him taken to the pound before I would. So the QUESTION is: Is there something wrong with him?

I rubbed my dog today and he started snarling and trying to bite me, so i held him down and yelled at him until he stopped (he is very little). The entire time my mom is yelling at me "leave him alone, why are your torturing him, he just wants to sleep. Just walk away." Are you kidding me? This is exactly why he thinks it is ok to attack me. Any normal person would have done much worse than i did. I think my mom's response to my dog's behavior is total bullshit.
