I noticed some people saying things about dental care so I wanted to add that he does have good dental care and goes to the vet reguarly,also he is a shih tzu. Is this a concern I should take to the vet immediatly?

Very common for the breed. Frequent dental care is a must. Do you feed soft food or hard food? Hard is best. I'm sure you're doing your best to care for the dog properly. The only way to have prevented the issue was to find a breeder that knows the history of the dog's family as sometimes dental issues are hereditary.

It is common in dogs without prior dental care.Small dogs more so because their mouths are smaller.Time for a good dental cleaning/teeth extraction

Has anything happened to him? How loose are they? 4 is young for most dogs and they shouldn't have really loose teeth. I would probably ask the vet about it next time you go.

what kind of dog is it? i have poodles and i have had problems with their teeth. my vet said small dogs tend to have more dental problems than big dogs. i would take her in for a check up

it is quite common for little dogs to lose teeth quite early, 4 is a little young, but it could just be bad conformation in his mouth.
when i bought my first cavalier, her gran, (6 yrs) had hardly any teeth left,
you ll need to adapt his/her food if any teeth are lost, either to tinned food or soaked complete food.
all ways ask your vet for advice as your dog may be deficient in something in his diet.

i know a lot of my old dogs teeth got loose and eventually fell out. it is commen i think. you could try brushing his teeth.

i had a yorkie and he lost a few teeth by while he was still a puppy.
