My dog is 6 months old.Past 3 days he is not eating his food at all.I took him to the vet and everything is normal but he still stay away from food. I tried giving him the gourmet dog food thinking the change in food will enhance his taste buds. But he just ate abit and left.
Just before this happened i gave him a pig bone with the marrow from a pet store and also pig ear.He finished all the marrow and even tried chewing the hard bone. That night he was also chewing my socks and happily played with it.
Do u think there can be a link bewteen the pig bone/pig ear and socks with his loss of appetite?
I am so worried.Just need some help.

but it needs to be small (the agreement between my husband and I !!) What is a smaller dog that could "play" with my Shepherd and keep up with him? We have PLENTY of space for them....

Dogs are rated each year as the most popular. I think Golden Retrivers still hold the top rank. Boxers, my choice are number #8. But I want to know what makes your breed special and the best in your opinion.

We just rescued 4 precious beagle/lab mix puppies (2 girls, 2 boys). They're about 8 weeks old, and were never wormed until we got them yesterday. The worm issue seems to be getting better, and we plan a vet visit soon. We're planning to take care of them for about a month & resolve their health issues & find good homes for them- our hands are full with the 2 beagles we already have! I have 2 main questions: how should I work with them on potty training, and how should we crate them? They're crated together now, and they're not having a problem using the bathroom where they sleep. If I separate them will it help? And should I take them outside to pee one at a time? One more question, how much exercise do they need? We play with them as much as possible, but do have to keep them crated intermitently during the day and at night. Thanks for any advice!!

My puppy is 9 weeks old and I am in the process of trying to potty train her. She does really good when I take her outside (every 2 hours) but I keep finding poop in the house every now and then. Am I supposed to punish her even if I don't catch her doing it? Will she even know what she is being punished for? What are your suggestions? thanks

I am thinking about adopting a 9 yr old chihuahua. Any thoughts? This would be my first own dog. The chi is fully house trained, and very well behaved. She doesn't bark very much and loves playing and cuddleing.
As this is my first dog, is it wise to take on a 9 yr old, or is this easier as she is already fully trained?

Hello there, I just wanted to see if anyone can give me any info about my situation. I have 3 dogs that my jerk of a NEIGHBOR COULD CARE LESS FOR. he is a white man where we are mexican. we have 3 cane corsos and he has called the animal control like 7 times in 1 year, also he hsas called the cops on us for my music thats not even that loud, ( i was listening to spanish) its a little boom box, then he had call the city on us to get a stop work order on our shed my husband built since it wasn't 3 ft from the fence(not even on his side of the proprty to bug him its on the street side) then he called the cops for one of our vehichles being unregistered on the street so we got fined for that as well. well it turns out he could no longer call animal control on us since he has called too mant times for barking now he needs to take it up with the courts. so the animal control came by and said to expect something in the mail for us to go to court since the man has taken it up with the DA

Everytime I might go to the kitchen and get something to eat, my dog will come right beside me and stare at me. If I sit down at the table with my food, he will stand right by my chair and stare at me, and start whining. He gets plenty to eat, and we feed him three times everyday. When he does this, I feel like a bad pet owner...like he's starving or something. He is not a huge dog, he's a poodle. Do most dogs do this? I don't have much experience with them.

I have a young German Sheperd who I got out of the pound. He is a sick dog - stopped eating, seems to have painful gas, very dehydrated and has had a bad cases of diareah in the past. Spent a small fortune at the vet and they can't tell me what is wrong other than his intestines/bowel is dialated and it could be gas. They kept him overnight worried that his bowel had twisted - that was not the case. He was very dyhydrated when i took him to the vet friday.
This weekend at home, he was in a lot of pain becasue of gas ( i think) I gave him gas-x and that seemed to work temporarily. does anyone know of some long term solutions, diet? things to help with digestion or strange bacteria in digestive tract?
He has had stomach, diareah..problems a lot since i have had him. He seems very uncomfortable and unhappy.

Is it really a show of affection? Just curious, because we always say, "that dog gives lots of kisses" and such. Is it really a form of kisses for a dog? Does the dog instinctively think it is "kissing" you or is it some kind of reaction to what the human is doing?

i have two lab puppies that came from humble begining's. i'm currently doing dog obedience with them. (what a blast!) one of the puppies female seems to be a real pleaser. I'm a liitle concern because she is bulllegged in the front. She'll retieve a ball during play except in far throws. During the heel she seems to want to walk almost on top my knee regardless of what i do. She's areal sweetheart unlike her sister who is a bit of a rebel but a lot of fun. I moved her elbow and didn't feel any thing unusual and it didn't seem to hurt her. Has any body else dealt w/this. I'm open to suggestions.
