Can a dog get addicted to drugs?

my dachshund puppie got hit by a car and he had multiple fractures to the pelvic region and we had surgery done on him but he was on medication for about five weeks and is just barley coming off it. Can he be addicted like humans can?

Absolutely! Wean him off of the pain meds slowly! I love dachsunds, and have 3 myself! Good luck!

Yes, I know this one dog whose owner takes drugs and he gives drugs to the dog and the dog is so addicted!!
