i have two lab puppies that came from humble begining's. i'm currently doing dog obedience with them. (what a blast!) one of the puppies female seems to be a real pleaser. I'm a liitle concern because she is bulllegged in the front. She'll retieve a ball during play except in far throws. During the heel she seems to want to walk almost on top my knee regardless of what i do. She's areal sweetheart unlike her sister who is a bit of a rebel but a lot of fun. I moved her elbow and didn't feel any thing unusual and it didn't seem to hurt her. Has any body else dealt w/this. I'm open to suggestions.

Have both of her elbows x-rayed. Are you saying that it look's like she elbows out in the front? She could have UAP's, FCP's or both in her elbows. Were her parents OFA'd on elbows? With a FCP you might not elicit pain from her unless the piece of the bone is loose and causing problems. Also, try to palpate the long bones in her front legs to see if this causes pain. You have to give a good squeeze when doing this to see if you can get a pain response. She could have Pano, but I doubt it if you say she elbows out.

I've never dealt with this personally, but have seen pups with leg deformities due to malnutrition or injury. Your vet should be able to tell you if there is cause for concern.
