My dog is 6 months old.Past 3 days he is not eating his food at all.I took him to the vet and everything is normal but he still stay away from food. I tried giving him the gourmet dog food thinking the change in food will enhance his taste buds. But he just ate abit and left.
Just before this happened i gave him a pig bone with the marrow from a pet store and also pig ear.He finished all the marrow and even tried chewing the hard bone. That night he was also chewing my socks and happily played with it.
Do u think there can be a link bewteen the pig bone/pig ear and socks with his loss of appetite?
I am so worried.Just need some help.

i have a 10 month old dog and she does the exact same thing. she used to inhale her food in once i gave it to her and suddenly she just stopped eating. so what i do now is in the afternoon i will mix dry food, wet food, and meat chunks in her food put her in her room right before i have to leave for work, and by the time i come back she's finished with her food completely. and that's just in 2 hours. then at night i just leave dry food in her bowl and keep her in there for an hour and eventually she eats a little bit. dogs will eventually eat their food when they get really hungry. i use to feed my dog 7 in the morning and 7 at night but she wouldn't eat so i just feed her in the afternoon when she does get hungry. and shorten the amount of snacks given to your dog so that he doesn't rely on that too much.

Eating the pig bone could have made his teeth and gums sore. He could also be teething right now and it makes it painful to eat dry food when teething. My dog became this way when he was teething. In order to get my dog to eat, I would soak his food in warm water for a few minutes to soften it up. He ate the whole bowl of food everytime I did this. I wouldn't switch to canned soft food as this usually has more fat and causes more gas, just soak his dry food until it is soft to ease the discomfort.

Maybe get him some canned dog food, something soft for him to eat since he's just a puppy
