Are they great dogs? I have also been hearing that they get a lot of health issues as they get older, is this true?

ok, i had one dream where a guy with long hair kiddnapped me and a nother girl.anywho... my parents and brother (18) where camping near a river. i knew this and so did not plead when he told us to swim up stream. me and the girl became friends as we swam and as soon as i herd my mom crying, i swam toward the bank, but the dude held me back. my dog (hates to swim) lept in the water and fought with the dude. my dog came back up the hill and was bleeding bad. the dude kept down, but threw pine cones. i threw them back. he was crying as we called police and took the girl in. then i had this dream last night. i was walking up a path to my friends and i saw a man gardening. i smilied and sayed hi. and then i was walking and he followed me. i said as i turned arond: dont touch me!!! i bit him. he screamed. my same dog came running he was a horse now! he tackled him at my house and we called police. my dog tuned back into a dog and licked me and i woke up.

my niece is about 4 months old and when ever she comes over my dog is happy to see her and licks her a few times but when we start playing with my niece my dog comes up and i cant tell if she is trying to just join in the fun or take the attention away from her we give my dog lots of attention and we dont ignore her when my niece is around but sometimes my dog will just go in the corner and pout the whole time shes here. is this a problem or am i just being paranoid? and if it is a problem what should i do?

I have a 12 yr old female spayed sheltie who is having incontinence issues. After many tests at the vet including a gravity test over a 48 hour time frame nothing medical has been found. She seems to fall asleep into a very deep sleep and then pees. She knows that she did it and will sometimes lay there to not let anyone see it; we have to beg her to get up. This is a dog that has been healthy and athetic her whole life and short of the peeing is not really showing old age signs. Anyone else with a sheltie been through this? We have never scolded her for this as it is seemingly uncontrollable.

I've got a 2yr. old German Shepherd (as I've said in another question), and he likes to attack squirrels. There's a tree outside my apartment that squirrels are always hanging around. He crouches down and sneakes up from behind...and then pounces! Should I try and stop this? He hasn't caught one yet, but I'm thinking he might move up to cats, raccoons, maybe small children, etc...He's not acting like he wants to hurt them either, just looks like he's playing around.

I have a dog that was abandoned as a puppy. No one seems to know what breed he is. However, when watching this movie, i noticed that other than the fact that he is black, instead of white, he looks identical to the dog on that movie. Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought a Jack Russel and he is always barking and hyperactive. Will he always be like this or is just because he is a puppy?

How long does it take for airlines to actually pay the insurance?
I always insure but their max coverage is not sufficient to cover lost puppy, replacement puppy, duel shipping fees and all other related cost, especially when I ship internationally.
Does the shipper have to pay for the airline medical exam?
I often ship, and so far, I have not had a problem, I read their website on stats about cargo deaths.
They do not post any complaints or follow-ups.

I think I'd be a Border Collie as they are an intelligent breed, and very loyal - not that I'm boasting! ;-)

I just adopted a rat terrier, and he is just fine around women and children, but he slinks away if my dad or boyfriend trys to pet him or get close to him. they are both about 6'2''. could it just be because he is scared of tall people or does that show signs he was abused with a former family..

My Boston Terrier is almost 5 months old. Since we got him we've been putting him in his kennel when we leave the house (and can't take him with us). Now that he's a bit bigger he doesn't go #2 in there anymore, he only pees. I understand he might not be able to hold it all the time but sometimes there's just so much pee that...well it's just disgusting. I don't understand why he keeps doing it. If he can hold his #2's why can't he hold everything else? I know there's people out there who are going to say.."if you can't be home 24/7, you shouldn't have a dog, blah blah blah" and I understand you opinion, I just don't agree with it, so those types of responses I don't need here. I just need to know if I'm doing something wrong or will he'll grow out of this? Him being in his kennel during the week, because I work, isn't a new thing to him. We go through the same routine every day, nothing changes so coming home to a mess everyday just frustrates me more and more. Help!!
