On Saturday I took my cat to the vet for her checkup. While doing blood work, the vet discovered that that there is a thyroid problem. I've been reading the symptoms of this problem and my cat doesn't have any of the symptoms. I'm worried because the vet orginally wanted to clean the cat's teeth and I asked to wait because it was so expensive (please no lectures re: shouldn't have cat if can't afford one...) & the cat was not having oral troubles. All of a sudden she has developed thyroid problems??? Should I get a second opinion? I can go to a low cost clinic, where she was adopted from. Do the symptoms appear during the later stages? I don't want my cat to suffer, if I wait for treatment. Please any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much.

My kitten is 14 weeks old and I just got him from a shelter on Friday. I took him to the vet today and everything checked out, but he has ate very little hardley anything since i brought him home. He also sleeps all the time and is only awake for about 20 min out of the day. He doesn't play at all. Everything came back neg from his bloodwork and he is not anemic. I have also tried all different foods dry, soft and some the vet gave me.Any ideas I am pretty worried. thanks

I live on the 21st floor of a high rise. My cats are always looking out the windows. Can they see as far as me? Can they make out the cars on the streets? Can they see all the way to the horizon?

I have a pet cat named Bonez. Found him as a stray about 3 years ago. I brought him to the veterinarian to neuter and declaw. I was told he was roughly a year old. He's a domestic long hair tabby, very sweet and even tempered, gets along with all cats. He has always had a drooling problem. Last weekend, my girlfriend pointed out that Bonez had no upper canine teeth. I found that odd and checked it out myself. Sure enough, he doesn't, but there are two stubs with flat ends, it almost looks as if they were intentionally removed. They are each perfectly flat and the same length.

I am just wondering if this is something that is a standard procedure that may have taken place before I found him. Why would he have no upper canines, tooth decay? I would find it hard to believe he would need his teeth removed in under a year old. Also, could this cause any of the excessive drooling, maybe because the mouth isn't catching the saliva? Or are the two likely unrelated? Thanks! Jeremy

I just checked on my cat and she has clearish fluid leaking out of her vagina. She lost her mucus plug about 37 hours ago and started to leak milk today. When should she have the babies?

I have read a Yahoo answer stating that to stop a cat from urinating in the house is to yell at it. Help me stop animal abuse!

My little brother colored my white siamese whith black permenant marker!
It's skin got colored too. Is it toxic? My Siamese is really mad and won't let me touch her, even when I offered her a can of Tuna. Will it stain her skin? Is it bad for her? What do I do?

I am curious if you have had or know about having a cats teeth removed. I have a 12 year old cat who has very bad dental disease and the vet recommended having her teeth removed. She is strictly an indoor cat. Would this be a bad thing to do? Will it be hard for her to eat? I have read that they adapt well, but I am just not sure. I want her to live another 12 years (at least!) so I am trying to make the right decision! Thanks!

(probably about 30 - 35 hours ago) When should she have the kittens? She is very young. Probably only one year old. I am fostering her for a place that saves cats. PLEASE HELP

He smeared his own poo on the cats face and belly. When I asked him why he did this he said he didn't know why? He just did it because the cat was in the bathroom with him. Should I be alarmed?
