I think you new little kitten is just trying to get used to his/her new surroundings. Being in a new home is a little scary for the first time and he is still a kitten so he/she will sleep a lot. I found with my two cats that when they were little they didnt really play that much untill they were a bit older. Plus going to the vets with wear them out because of all the stress there. If everything came back OK from the vet Im sure he is ok. If you are still concerned after a week mabey take the little guy back to the vets and let them know whats going on. Good luck and Im sure everything is fine. Congrats on your new little addition! MEOW!!

Hello I have two kittens myself. The kitten probably isn't eating because he is trying to get settled in your home. Or he is emotionally not stable. Do you have your kitten in a small quiet room? Do you have other animals? These factors could contribute to your kittens eating habits. Try mixing powder formula with some caned food. He might not like solids yet. Also, try contacting the shelter to see if the kitten was eating there and if yes ask them what it got feed. Just pay a lot of attention to your kitten to make sure it doesn't lose too much weight. Hint: Have you tried people food like chicken or turkey or even fish. Your kitten might be enticed to eat that.

did they do a stool check....and y would they do bloodwork on him at this age? he doesnt have enough blood to supply to do the bloodwork required. he should of only had a FELV/FIV test done and that only uses 3 drops of blood. If they took more than that, that is probably why he is so lethargic. Shame on your vet if he did that. It takes about 60 days for cats to rebuild new red blood cells, so expect him to be crappy for the next couple if days if they did do bloodwork. if not and they didn't do a stool check, then take a sample to the vet and check for intestinal parasites. it is very common in kittens and are very easily treated. Goodluck!

Pets take time getting used to new surroundings. He might just need some time to rest and then some time when he doesn't feel like every move is being watched. Give him time to explore, don't push him too much, and let him come to you. If he's been mistreated in the past, it could take a while to trust humans again.
P.S. Make sure his food dish is nowhere near his litter box. Cats can smell very well and they won't be interested in eating if they're smelling their own feces.

If your cat received a shot today, it could make him tired for the next 24 hours. Nothing to worry about. Along with the excitement of being on a trip and getting poked and taking all his energy... I'm sure he'll be fine. If he is immobile, has trouble breathing, does not wake at all, then it's ER time.

Maybe he's depressed.
Some cats are more quiet than others. I have 8 kittens right now, they all have different personalities....that's why if we can ever get someone to take them....I think it's important to match cats to a person's personality and vice versa.
I envy you.....5 of these like to play at 1 am....
Try playing with him.

Your kitten just needs some time to adjust to it new surroundings and probably from whatever the vet did to him. I have a kitten too and when he got hungry he ate, the same applies to yours.

Definitely call the vet back and tell him what is going on. Did you get a/d from the vet? I don't like the way this situation sounds and am very puzzled as to what could be going on. So please call the vet tomorrow and tell him what is going on.
