They are very active and playful. They also sleep alot, anywhere from 18-20 hrs a day. They are very fun to have, so keep up your strength. :)

I don't know who told that one guy about not neutering a male until 1 year!!! They will start spraying your house at 6 months! Find a vet ASAP when you get this baby. He/She will help you with questions like spaying (female hysterectomy) and neutering (male vasectomy), fleas, shots, worming, etc. Remember, when they lose their "fangs" they can cause trouble (get pregnant/get another pregnant). This happens at around 6 months. My current foster kitty was 4½ months when my vet said he was big enough to neuter. He did my male the same way and he has had absolutely no problems.

NOTE: Males are cheaper to get fixed than females.

Kittens are very playful and I am a firm believer in the water pistol/spray bottle. It works! Get that baby a scratching post or a "kitty tree" or your furniture will pay the price (it might still pay the price, but that's what the water pistol is for). I bought a floor-to-ceiling "cat tree" at Wal Mart for less than $40 and my babies LOVE it. The best toys make noise when they hit it with their paw. Also, get one of those flanel strips on a stick with feathers on the end. This is great. Your kitty will jump to grab it. So much fun! Even get a laser pen. Do not shine it in their eyes, but you can have just as much fun with that watching your kitty chase the red dot.

Good luck with your new baby!

Well you need to make it has all of it shots right now that they get.
You need to make sure it always have plenty of food. The best food for a kitten is the kitten food that is in the box. also make sure you always change their water daily just case they get food or liter in it. also give all the love and it will become your best friend. If you have trouble getting it to used the liter box try putting some liter on a newspaper and rubbing it belly with a warm washcloth and then let it go to the liter and then it will start using it when it gets a little older.
If you want to give it some milk don't give it human milk give it something called cat nip that is the best for a kitten.
Also you can give it cat food in a cat but start it off slow we did with all ours three cats and now they are beautiful cats.
I wish you all the luck in the world. God bless you.

They are more curious than kids. Keep all small, easily movable and breakable items higher up.

One thing I have used on the past three cats I have owned to show them they are doing wrong, rather than smacking them, is to get a water pistol. Fill it with water and start shooting when they do something wrong. They take off running like a bullet like a gun, but they learn. And my current cat is still very affectionate, so it didn't have any long term negative affects. In fact, he is the most affectionate cat I have owned.
