yes you can. I've had to do that with a few kittens that I've had. I had one kitten whose mother had been killed before it was weaned so we fed it milk or baby formula. eventually we worked our way but to gerber's baby food then to soft kitten food.

Once a cat is weaned it shouldn't need anymore milk and then giving the kitty milk unless you dilute it a lot will give your kitty diarrea . Water is much healthier . I would not give baby formula for has Vitamin/Minerals in it to provide necessary nutrition for human baby' development and some may eventually harm the kitty esp the iron. But just to be sure best thing to do is to call your Vet,any Vet really and ask for if you can then be a shame not to. But best for the kitty is Kitten Food(dry)that does not have Byproducts in it-look under the Contents and can be found any Petfood store such as Petsmart Petco and so on The dry is much better for it cleans the kittys teeth which the canned does not do and because of the liquid etc actually keeps food on the teeth. which i s not good Whenver I have Chicken I give my Cat some(no breading though) a small portion for a lean cat vs fat is a much healthier cat. Also t the Petstores they have sales here and there.

You can do a lot of things, but only your Vet can tell you re. the effect of human baby formula on a kitten's internal & immune system developement. I'm not saying not to, but check with the Vet. I do know that there are a few to choose from, and that Feed Stores often have the best prices over Vets or pet stores. I believe that it's most critical for kittens under 3 weeks. There are a few brands- Just Born, KMR, generic mother's milk replacement. Your Vet may be willing to work with you to set up a payment arrangement for formula he may sell if you explain the situation, or a freind who can do the same by using a charge card, I totally sympathize, it is so hard to do right by these little babies whenyou are struggling to make it yourself, and that stuff is expensive. Perhaps your Vet could even give you some kind of a recipe for it. Or your local Reference librarian can look it up. I'm sure you know a lot of creative ways to approach this, best wishes & kudos to you for taking this little one in =)... Until you get something, Formula would be good to keep her from weakining & dehydrating.

Kittens will starve to death on baby formula. There are generic brands of synthetic milk that are much cheaper than KMR. Be kind, if it's too difficult to afford the milk, pass her on to a shelter. I foster bottle kittens and have been sent many who were, in good faith, fed baby formula, their owners thinking it was okay. Kittens and babies are totally different in nutritional needs. They have to have the stuff made for their species. I'm not being mean or sarcastic, but you wouldn't feed your baby kat milk would you?

You don't really need to give kittens milk if they are 6 weeks of age. They just need kitten food and water.

If they are younger than that and you are feeding them with a bottle, you really should use kitten milk.

If you can't afford the milk needed to feed your kitten, then you shouldn't have a kitten. Animals like children deserve to have the best possible care and if you can't afford that then you shouldn't have to deprive them of what is best for them. And to answer your question no baby formula doesn't have the nutrients that the kitten needs.

Yep ! but how old is the kitten ? You can also feed it canned
evaporated milk and mix it with a little ground kitten food.

I have given baby formula to kittens before..but if I recall correctly there is one type that isn't good for them....I think it is the one with the high iron that isn't good for their tummies.

goats milk is good for them too.
