Because that's one of the prime directives for all citizens originating from the planet Barfalottagus, in order to make your housework as difficult as possible and cater to them.
(In other words, who the heck knows???! LOL. I have no good answer for this.....)

Because cats are smart and lay around on nice soft cushy carpets and unlike "mans best friend" they don't like cold hard floors. So when they're ready to throw that hairball out, they do it on the nice cushy spot that they're already on.

well it does happen...one thing that is really great is resolve spray carpet cleaner it comes in a spray bottle and once you get the barf up you spray some of the resolve and in no time you cant even tell

My cat looks at me, points to the carpet, smiles, and hacks up her hairball right on the mark. They are evil little beings....

Hehe. Our cat and dogs are the same way. Its always on the bed, couch, or our clothes.

because then you van clean it up better and they don't really know where they barf they just start walking and they sit and barf when it starts to come up.
