I'm worried about his quality of life and it breaks my heart. He's only 5 years old. I don't know what to do. I want to be selfish and keep him around, but I don't know if it's the best for him.

I am not looking to give a show quality Himalayan but would like a full bred himilian or persian himilian mix. I looked online but most people seem to want 1000 Himalayan. Where should I look for a quality yet not overly priced Himalayan? I live in NC and dont want to drive across country

I just got a new kitten about a week ago. The kitten was 5 1/2 weeks old when I got her (she wasn't litter trained and is still drinking milk). I've been reading ways on the internet to train her and nothing is working. I have two other cats in my house. I've been putting her in there when ever I think about it (I also been putting her in the other cats litter box). She'll just sit in there for a second and then jump out. I also tried the trick of putting her "number two" in her box but it doesn't matter. She's a great kitten but my room mates are getting sick of her peeing and pooping everywhere. Can someone please help me! Also how do I get her to eat dry food? I put it down but the other cats eat it and she isn't interested! The cat is a Persian I don't know if that makes any difference.

I was never allergic when I was younger but after having my first child I became highly allergic and had to send my cat to live with my grandmother. When I visit my grandmother I react very badly with breathing difficulty, watering eyes, sneezing, etc... but she has several long hair cats. I just got back from a visit with my mother and she has a single short haired cat and I didn't notice any reaction, I did try to stay clear of him but he jumped right in my lap and I didn't so much as sneeze. Was this just a one time thing or is it possible that maybe I am not reactive to short hairs? I miss having a cat so bad. Is there a way I could be tested? Thanks for any advise.

I have a problem. I have 2 cats, litter mates. Boy and girl. I love them both but the boy and I are very close. The girl and I have a distant relationship. She is sweet occassionally but I can not pick her up or even have her next to me with getting scratched. I can not clip her nails without getting shredded. She is afraid of everything. I have her because when I was waiting for the boy to get old enough to take from his mom, my friend could not find a home for his sister. He begged me and repeatedly pleaded that I take the girl too. I refused for most of the nine weeks I was waiting but at the last minute I gave in as she had no immediate home and I thought it would be ok. But now it is 1.5 years later and I have tried to give her a loving affectionate home. But the older she gets the weirder she gets and I feel ridiculously guilty and as if I am a bad person but what can I do?

Should I keep a cat that I can not even get close too without getting scratched most of the time?

I found an orphand kitten yesterday, it only looked about 2 to 3 weeks old and its eyes where seald with mucus so it couldent see at all. I gave it some food and water, and left it there. Today i went to go and see how it was doing and both its eyes were slightly open. so i put on some gloves and went to pick it up then i put it in a box with a hotwater bottle wraped up in old clothes(so it woudent burn her feed)but it could jump out, so i tranported it to where my land lord used to keep sheep. the doors are lockble so my kittens cant get in. im worred that the kitten might have lukimea and i am trying to keep my kittens and away from the orphand kitten.i cant afford to take it to the vet, and i really dont know what to do with it??i would love to keep it but if it has lukimea then i cant. how do i tell?
Help....

Don't people realize how unhealthy it is for animals to be overweight. and how easy it is to keep them from getting over weight.

why is it that people think that fat cats are adoriably cute, I think it's sad, it's total abuse! if you saw a person walking down the street that was fat you are probably the same people that think that's nasty and will make fun of them.

It's not that hard to have feeding times instead of free feeding your cats. Not a good thing, cats that are free fed are much more likely to get fat

it's not that hard to play with your cats, get them moving, have them chase a string toy, or bat some balls around etc.

I always imagine one of my cats, Tiger, would be a beautiful, tall, thin ,blonde model. Tiger has the longest legs I've ever see on a cat.

I want to get another cat? What kind should he/she be? What gender? How should I introduce them?
Kicha, my cat, thinks she's the Queen of our house and the only animal she's gotten along with was my dog, but my grandma took our dog eight months ago, so Kicha's not used to any other pet.

Yesterday, my friend told me that her elderly cat had a heart attack and died while trying to climb stairs. Besides her and her family's tears, her dog is deep in mourning. The dog goes outside to howl. he is throwing up all his food. What can be done to comfort the dog? Will bringing another cat into the house help?

I have two indoor cats and they leave hair all over the house. My 2 year old son is allergic to the hair. I don't really want to give the cats away if possible, so are there any ways of reducing the amount of hair they shed? And no, I don't think shaving them bald is an option!! Would getting them to go outdoors improve the situation, would they moult less?

His name is Max, and he goes into the kitchen and faces a corner and meows. He then looks like he is confused and he will get on a kitchen chair and go to sleep. He recently had a check up, and he is in good health for his age, so I don't think it is illness, any suggestions?

At 6:35 am our beloved cat Sammy passed.

We think Sammy was around 17 or 18 years old and probably his heart just gave out. He seemed fine earlier in the morning. Sam was in the bed saying hi to wake us up. I pet him. We fed him -Sammy seemed like he was having just a regular morning.

Ed our little guy was in the hall and looked scared. I peeked in the kitchen and saw Sam was on his side breathing and purring but only faintly. I called out to my husband. I pet him and looked him over then went & called the emergency clinic while my husband stayed with him. But we weren't able to wisk him to the ER in time. Sammy had slipped away.

We will miss him dearly, he was a GREAT CAT. With a heavy heart, R.I.P. Sammy!!

Many Thanks!

I have an old cat around twenty in human years, and she is beginning to lose her teeth. She is having a hard time eating even soft food, I have been putting her soft food in the blender to make it softer, but she is still not eating. I know she is not sick because she wants to eat but meows loudly when attempting to. I think her gums are tender. any advice?

I have kind of a strange question. When we let our outdoor cat in the house she nearly always goes to the bathroom (poop) right beside our toilet. She's 4 months old and has been coming in since birth, it has only been in the last two weeks that she has been messing inside. My mom suggests just not letting her in anymore, but I think we need to teach her how to be inside without messing. We've had the kitten's mom for a year and she is inside often and has NEVER gone potty in the house. Any suggestions?

I have just got a new 8 week old kitten and was wondering what the best way to socialise her into my house it

I already have a2yr old persian girl cat. She was the runt of the litter so the new cat is goinvg to be a lot bigger and i dont want the Persian to get put down the bottom of the ladder.

I also have a dog but it is proving easier to introduce the kitten to the dog than to the other cat

Any ideas?

She will be living in a mobile home now since a neighbor has complained that she has been killing his flowers. She will not experience going after grasshoppers out of garden anymore. Is she going to be miserable ? I am not necessarily a cat person so the transition will be a challenge for me as well. What can we do to keep her from crying the blues. My husband is her best buddy....Thanks

We had her spayed about a few weeks ago. Went and her stitches taken out. The other night i picked her up to look at her incision to see how it was healing and much to my surprise there was a STRING coming through it... I figure it to be an internal stitch??? But when I checked it today there was a pussy liquid with a small, miniscule amount of blood. I plan on taking her to the vet after a while, but I what I want to know is... Is this normal?????????
