I would think that since I have "rescued" the puppy from the pet shop they are no longer in an environment to be sick. Nor, were they really at the Mill for that long. Why is it just because a puppy came from a Mill they will automatcially come to us with some sort of life threatening disease? (this is what I read from most answers) I was just confused about it. Give any insight or PROOF you may have.

I bought 2 yorkie puppies from a breeder with written health guarentee to cover inherited disease for one year. The first vet exam after I recieve the puppies ( 2 weeks after), He found out one puppy has mild Luxating pattella. I wrote to breeder. By guarentee for inherited disease, I either able to return the puppy , or getting full or partial refund depend how severe the disease. The breeder email back said none of her siblings or parents has luxating pattella. Before She ship the puppies, her vet didn't find out the puppy has this disease either. She want me wait and see. Then I wrote her back and told her 2 options. 1: partial refund, I 'll take care of the puppy in the future in case she need surgery in the future. 2: Wait and see, If puppy syntoms get worse eventuraly need surgery. She need pay half of the surgery cost. That's the last contact with this breeder. She won't email back, she won't answer her phone. She still sell her puppies on her website. What should I do ?

I have a Russian tortoise. From the research that I have done I know that he needs a great variety in his diet and as little store bought vegetables as possible. However I try to get him to eat many things but he'll just eat romaine lettuce. He eats around everything else. If i give him other stuff and no romaine, he won't eat at all

I have a male dwarf bunny that I've had for a couple months, so he's still pretty young. I was thinking about maybe getting him a friend. Do male bunnies fight? Would he get along better with a girl bunny if I got them neutered? And do they act like cats, being very territorial?

I have a late 2 year old APHA registered Stallion. He was born at the end of July in 2005. He's a massive boy already at the age of two. Both of his parents are freight trains and we went to TESKEY'S and got a saddle for him, and after trying several on him, came to the conclusion only a saddle with full quarter horse bars would fit him. If you have no clue what that means, in short term- he's a broad boy.
I'm going to show him in reining, cutting, and reined cowhorse work, but still have pondered the idea of gelding him. He has great bloodlines(He's a Peppy!) and is a great stallion with hardly any flaws in conformation. As a stallion my children ride him with no problems and he minds his manners around mares.
If I do geld him however with him being two and all and still having a few years to grow still, should he still broaden out like he would if I kept him a stallion. Both his parents are broad.

My kitty is 2 months old, and I know that she's teething, but seriously, folks, she won't stop biting. Hard.

I know that she's just wanting to play with me and that's her way of playing right now, but how do I get her to stop biting without discouraging her to play?

It seriously hurts me, I have bite marks!

I know so many people that hate cats, but really have no reason why. I love my cat. I know a lot of people that have dogs don't like them either, maybe because they compare the 2? I have both, and I love both equally.

I've been dating a great guy for 9 months.About 2 years ago his wife of 10 years passed in a car accident and I'm the first person he's dated since. They had a maltese that is totally a nuisance. He's 14 and I think my man keeps him to remind him of his wife.Every morning he has to massage it's neck and back because it has arthritis and most nights he rocks it to sleep like a baby.I've been trying to get him to put it to sleep, but he refuses because the vet says that his arthritis is controlled with medication.About a week ago I finally got sick of it and took the dog to the pound. When my boyfriend came home and found out he went ballistic. He raced to the pound and was able to get him back with literally 30 minutes to spare. When he returned he told me to get out of his house,so I went to my mom's for the night and the next day I went to his house and all my stuff was in the yard and the locks were changed.I love him so much and don't know what to do.Any suggestions? He told me we're thru.

My cat has red around her eyes, one more swelling than the other that she can't open it all the way. I started her on this flea control medicine recently, and it seems that the itching has grown, not stopped, because she starts licking the spots agitatedly. Before the pink eye, I saw her washing her face the way cats do, with their paws, and then it was pink. What should I do???

Is there ANY WAY to sorta "prevent" Hip-Dysplasia in a GSD? Pills, medicine, anything!!! ( But not TOO much $)

Ya see, I hope to adopt an adult GSD mix from my local shelter. ( Or get one for Christmas. But don't worry, I am totally responsible, as see in my other question below. )

I was wondering if there is a way to prevent it? What pills / food do you use? Has there ever been a GSD without Hip-Dysplasia? Is a GSD *MIX* better off not getting it than an all GSD dog? Please help me!!! Thanks. :)

Oh, and NO, THIS IS NOT FROM A BREEDER SO I CAN NOT CHECK THE PARENTS!!! I AM "ADOPTING".

Thank You SOOOO Much Everyone!!! :):):)

MY OTHER DOG QUESTION, PLEASE ANSWER!!! : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArbWyLXiWAo7WpaVpKc5Kh_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071213114322AAnX9i8

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

( I am asking this because I know GSD's are very likely to get it, and so I was wondering how to prevent it. Ya see, my neighbors had a GSD that was hurt

I have a great sheperd mix. very smart. Very good natured. very submissive to me. He has had obedience training. Only problem is , he has fear issues, i guess. When we first got him he did a lot of submissive urination. That has gradually decreased but he is still a p***y. We live in a not too great neighborhood. We've finally got him to bark at people coming through our alley. The other day though, I came thru our alley and approached our yard with a hood on and walking funny. He didn't recognize me and began barking and howling. I came into the gate and he ran up onto the deck, still barking and pretty much stayed away from me. I don't want our dog to attack people or bite but I would like him to be more intimidating. If someone enters our yard, i want him snarling and lunging(not necessarily biting). Any tips?

I just adopted a 1.5 yr old border collie last weekend. He has his first vet check today, but im curious if this is the "collie eye" i have read about. He appears to have a lazy eye. Like one eye will be looking straight, one looking to the side. I keep reading information about the collie eye, and it is talking about retinas and whatnot, and doesnt really explain how to identify this abnormality. Just curious if anyone knows if this is what it is...I know the vet will tell me (hopefully), but im impatient. Thanks!

We currently live in a no pet complex. We are looking to buy a puppy and found one we really like. We are moving into a pet friendly home in a couple weeks. Do you think if I put a deposit on the puppy, the breeder can hold it for about 4 weeks until we move into our new home? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I am hesitant, because I dont want to get ripped off and end up with no puppy...

I have been feeding him a scoop of canned food and a small handful of dry food in the morning and afternoon but i don't mix them i let him decide. but i dont know if feeding him wet food that much is good for him. And sense he is so little it looks like it is hard for him to eat the dry food but he doesn't seem to mind. and i leave a small bowl of dry food and water next to the bed so if he gets hungry its there but im not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Well, we have a dog who's 6 years of age and today my mum has been saying that he has had a little diarrhoea 3-4 times today with a little blood in it but we don't know why. He has a sensitive digestive system whenever he eats any lamb meat and always gets watery diarrhoea after eating lamb but then it goes after about one day. My mum said that she hasn't given him any lamb so I guess that's not the cause of it. She said she would call the vet but we need suggestions and the actual cause of why this is happening before doing anything. So, I guess that's my question.. if any more information is required I'll add it to the Additional Information section.
