There are different factors in how long a cat lives - just that particular cat's health, what he eats, if he is strictly indoor or outdoor...

I have a male Siamese / Tabby mix that I got when he was 10 weeks old (our anniversary is coming up on Christmas!) and he is 13. He has asthma (but has an inhalor) and is overweight (which has been an ongoing issue for years now) but other than that he is healthy. Vet expects him to live quite a bit (years) longer.

Congrats to the the new member of your family!!

well it depends if he will be outside or inside or both.
Generally, outside cats tend to be stronger but die sooner due to the elements, accidents, predators, disease, ect.
Indoor cats do not engage in as much exercise. This allows them to pack on more pounds, which may not be good for the heart. Male cats on average weigh more than female cats, consequently. Living indoors may also stun their immunities to the outdoors.
To attempt an answer the second part of your question, gray tabby cats, in my knowledge, tend to live longer. The same is true with black cats.

Good luck! I hope you two do well!

Grey tabby isn't a breed it's a color. Cats can live up to 28 yrs. more likely to live about 16-18. Depends on lots, weight, diet, indoors/outdoors, food, but in generally I would say 18 is a good guess.
One of my grandma's cats lived 26 yrs. and a friend of mines was 28. I've seen it several times, at the clinic.

Don't get a kitten before they are 8 weeks old (it's illegal to get them sooner, in some places).

Anyways, a 'gray tabby' only refers to the coloration, and it is not a breed in itself, therefore does not have a life estimate based on that.

I've heard of cats living up to 21 yrs old, but it really depends on the quality of care you provide for them. Good food, medical care when they require it, keeping them vaccinated & indoors, etc.

i be attentive to your 13 and that explains the question, yet fairly, how might all and sundry at here be attentive to the solutions? It relies upon on genetics, care, love and a bunch of different issues and to no remember if or not it would be pleased with you getting a kitten whilst its previous, cant be attentive to that for particular the two, good probability the respond could be no except you get one whilst he's youthful. Its like bringing you (teen) right into a 88 12 months olds existence whilst they have been used to easily having themselves around for all their lives and here you're leaping off the partitions desirous to be entertained all day.

most cats live 15-20 years.Depending on their life style. You will have a long life together. Outdoor cats and cats that are indoor/outdoor cats will tend to live shorter lives.
My oldest cat lived to be 19 years and 11 months.

Chelsea, if you plan on keeping him indoors and give him a good quality food to eat, your cat can live on average of 20 years.

I have three cats and my oldest is 19 years old.
