Never know. Bring your older dog with you to meet the new puppy and see how they interact. Besides, you shouldn't introduce them in your home, it could cause your older dog to get territorial.

Have them meet the first time in the park or someplace other than home. They will sniff and check each other OK and hopefully play. When you older dog finds the puppy fun to play he will not be upset to bring the new toy home.
But remember the new dog should not be petted first, nor fed first, nor given treats first. Pet them both and pet the older dog first. If you have established yourself as alpha you will not have a problems

He won't be if you take him along to pick the pup.
Seriously.
He's going be spending more time with it than you will.He should have a say in who he wants to share his toys, family, yard, car and favorite places to sleep with.
It's not at all hard to see which one he favors most.Just pick a couple of puppies you're interested in and seperate them from the rest of the litter and mother and turn them loose with your dog.If he shows absolutely no interest then keep looking but if he favors one over another then you need to bring that one home.
We did this with our dogs and it worked out beatifully. Our older dog has done more training on the younger one than I have. And at 5 and 3 yrs of age.the older one still keeps close watch and makes sure the younger dog doesn't misbehave.
He potty trained him too.

He probably will, but he should get over it once he realizes he's not being replaced.
Yes, the puppy will be adorable and oh-so-sweet, but make sure your older dog gets attention as well.
And make sure the older dog gets his food first. Just to show them both that the older dog is higher up in your "pack's" hierarchy.
Good luck

that depends.
Do you treat your older dog like your baby? If so, then yes he will but at the same time he might like having someone to play with. It really depends on your dog's personality. Without more info this question is impossible to answer.

It all just depends on your dog and the puppy.
I've introduced 3 new puppies to my one Border Collie and he was fine. Introduced a new puppy to mine when I had two, they were fine with it. I recently just introduced my newest puppy (got her Sunday) to my dogs. My male doesnt care as he didnt with the other two. My oldest female growls sometimes. My second youngest female loves the new puppy to death.

Jealousy is a human emotion-dogs don't do it. The are, however, sensitive to changes in territory and pack order.
Statistically, you have a one in four chance that the dogs will get along. One may not like the other, the other may not like the first one, or they may both not like each other. I recently got a dog that is trying to kill the others. Whoops.

How does your dog respond when you're in public with him, and you pay attention to another dog? Has he been socialized with other dogs?
A lot factors into how a dog will react to a new playmate.
