Have 2 large dogs, with fleas that will not die,I have used flea shampoos, treated the yard, the house, and frontline didn't seem to work eaither.I wait a week after a bath, then apply, and I am applying on the skin.I just tried adams flea and tick, let it sit for he time it says, rinsed and half the fleas died, but their are still alot alive. Can they become resistant to the active ingridients in the shampoo's, sprys, etc.?Are they supposed to die on contact with the shampoo or die slowly? last week i bathed the dogs, the next day, they were infested again, like I never gave them a flea bath. our german shepard has a flea allergy and has severe itching with 1 flea let alone infested with them.does advantage have the same active ingridiant as frontline? advantix?

Our family has decided we have gotten to the point that a dog would be great. Yahoo used to have a dog breed recommender, I can't find it anymore. I keep doing searcheds on the net for another breed recommender, but none of the links seem to work. Anyone know of a dog breed recommender that actually works? We haven't decided if we want a big dog/little dog; short hair/long hair (probably short hair now that I type that...) we have cats and a 2 1/2 year old...I know the recomendation is waiting until the youngest is 3 (almost there.) I want time to research the breed and make an informed decision. Any help/ideas would be appreciated...

My cat has this thing for opening the bottom cupboard doors and getting in them to play or sleep, or whatever she does. I don't really know what I should do to keep her out. There are cleaning supplies and chemicals under the sink and that seems to be her favorite one to play in. Do I just need to childproof the kitchen cupboards or what?

My heater went out on Wensday and all we had were small heaters, we put the rat cage in a warmer room and gave them plenty of bedding a cloth to keep warm because it snowed heavy that night. They both seem to be very tired and less active, one has been sneazing a bit but not bad but a few sneazes here and there and there eyes looked drained. They still go nuts when I give them food and when I take them out of the cage do you think they might have a lil cold and if they do what should I do?

I've had the carpet cleaned...I've used "miracle enzyme" spray, I've tried taking him out every hour...nothing seems to work. He is not crate trained so I am wondering if that should be our next step (??)

My baby Uro has a strange build up of what appears to be skin all around her mouth. It makes look kinda weird, and she's always wiping her mouth on her wood, and her tank walls. I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be, or how to get rid of it.
Thanks

My cats developed a condition on their chins very similar to what looks like acne- it is nowhere else on their bodies. First they got what looked like flea dirt- lots of small black dots. Then the hair on their chins fell out and they have raised white bumps and black dots, similar to blackheads. It looks really gross but does not seem to bother the cats. Someone told me this is called cat acne. How do I clear it up? What products can I use?
Thanks- the cats appreciate your help!

Don't tell me it can't be done because i know it can...
I'm trying to potty train my guinea pig... I have a covered corner littler box for the cage and have already put some soiled bedding in it. He tends to kind of hang out in there and I have already cought him peeing outside of the litter box. I only got him yesterday and have installed the littler box today. I also placed bedding in the litter box and removed all bedding from the rest of his cage. Is it bad if he hangs out in the litter box? Should I uncover it? Is there anything I can do to make him want to go to the bathroom in the littler box? Any other suggestions? His cage is about 2x3 feet...

He just loves to come in my room ,and sleep in my bed, and I have been letting him do that (I did not know he had fleas) well, I have been using a flea comb and have not found any more fleas, plus I will purchase some flea treatment.

What should I do untill then? Let him sleep in my room, or kick him out? :(

Ok, well i just went to a greenway and there was a river and on the shore their were a bunch of clams(i dont know weather thats fresh... or saltwater) and i dont know how to feed it or what to feed it also i took some pond water with me and i also have city water and i combined them into one really small travel sized tank, and i dont know if i should empty everything and fill it up with city water or just keep it the same? and i also thought that clams feed off of bacteria but i think im wrong... so if someone could tell me what to do it would be greatly appreciated: )

he loves to burrow, and i bought a fuzzy and dropped him in the cage. should i make the snake come out of his burrow, or should i just let him come when he wants. i would rather not leave the mouse in the cage for too long, but i refuse to stress out my snake. this is the first time im feeding him. what did you guys do when you first fed yours?

Dogs can learn to protect people, detects bombs and drugs, rescue people, lead the blind and help people with disabilities.

Cats basically just take up space and rot. I once heard of a cat trained to use the toilet LMAO. If you took care of a cat of 10 years, sheltered it, loved it but fed it foodlion cat food and your neighbor started putting out Purina, you would no longer have a cat.

besides fish is there a domestic animal less intelligent tha a cat?

Yesterday I woke up to my dog shaking her head and I looked in her ear. It is red and irritated, and has little black spots in it. I googled "ear mites", and I think that's what she has. Should I try an otc med before I take her to the vet, or should I go ahead and take her first?
Any info is helpful, thanks!
