You need to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You can find one here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm
The cat has bacteria in its saliva, and the chipmunk will need antibiotics, or it will die.
Do not take it to a vet - vets are for pets, and most do not have the expertise to deal with wild animals. Most also do not have the appropriate licenses to keep recouperating wild animals.
The licensed wildlife rehabilitators have the speicalized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. They also have the required state and federal permits that allow them to keep wild animals until they are healthy enough to be released back into the wild. It is illegal to keep a wild animal unless you have these permits.

omg i wish i had a chipmunk! You really shouldnt keep it though, its a wild animal. It depends how hurt it is, it could be fine, or it could be on its death bed. If i were you I would call a vet, it could give you suggestions. Give the chipmunk water, hamster/gerbil food, and nice bedding. Also make sure it has somewhere to hide, if it doesnt it may panick.

I would say no unless it has plenty of ventilation. I know that rats and mice do fine in them, but hedgehogs don't. So if I were you, I would just put it in a mouse or small animal cage until you can nurse it back to health, then return it to the exact place you found it. It is a wild animal after all.

I assume that there is no water in the tank.
I really don't know how serious the injuries are. Have you considered taking it to the vet?
I took an injured squirrel to a vet once. Unfortunately, it couldn't be saved. The vet didn't charge me.

Do you mean you are using an old fish tank for a hospital?
yes if you have soft warm bedding. water and food, and clean the tank/hospital every day or so.

how badly is it hurt?
if it has an open wound or is in obvious pain, no, it will not, but if it seems fine, keep it in there for a few days then let it go. :)

No, not if there's water in it. I hope you didn't drown the poor thing.
