I have a 5 month old standard poodle puppy, what an amazingly calm dog but when I am in the house, the dog is constantly following me and when I walk, he walks in front of me, or way to close to me. I have had him for a week, he is still getting used to being at a new home and there were 5 other dogs where he was at, now its just him and 2 cats, who wont give him the time of day yet.

Ok.. well i used to ride horses. And i rode for around 4 years. I fell twice, but the second time really got to me. I kept on riding though (got back in the saddle) but my nervousness wouldn't go away.

One day, my trainer got this new horse that was only 2 or 3.. he wasn't fully trained... and i wasn't in the place to be riding him (since i was so nervous)... but she made me ride him. So i did, and things just didn't go well. I almost got trampled, and a lot of other things like that happened.

So i decided to take a break from riding (i ended on a REALLY BAD lesson).

But, its almost been a year, and I really miss riding. So, I've decided to start up lessons again. But, i'm still REALLY REALLY nervous.. and really low on self confidence... so should I:

1. Take lessons, a one on one with a different trainer. Tell her about my nervousness... the way i stopped lessons on a bad note, etc. Find a good, well-trained, older horse to ride..

or

2. Go to the riding camp. There will be a lot of ppl there, many horses, ppl on all sorts of different levels. I will learn how to clean stalls, etc. Also we would ride. But I'll be nervous and low on self confidance.
**********

I was thinking to take a few PRIVATE lessons... and then MAYBE take the horse camp. That way I'll be able to talk to the trainer, and over come my fear/nervousness... and find a good horse for me... But am I wrong?? What should I do?? THANK YOU!

I cleaned my fish tank out a week ago. I changed out half the water. It is now a very cloudy green. I tested the PH, amonia, nitrites, nitrates, and salt level and everything is correct. I can barely see my fish but they are still alive. I don't know what is wrong. Any suggestions?

I am "test driving" 2 littermate kitties, a male and a female. However, my cousin has a beautiful calico that won't be ready for at least 4 more weeks. Should I keep the 2 littermates? I can keep the female kitten I have now and introduce the calico in 4 weeks. I'm just confused! I want all three but "the husband" says no so I have to choose just 2. What should I do? Would it be best to keep littermates?

I have been looking for a dog and not sure what kind is best for me. My boyfreind is out of town a lot for work so I would like a companion, but also a dog that can protect me and our house. size is not too much of a deal but I dont want a dog that requires complicated grooming. Also I can dedicate weekly walks but we have a fenced yard, what do you think?

Well, a lady down my block was selling some black Lab pups and we got one. He kind of has a lot of fleas but not too much for his size. I wanted to know what are some ways of getting rid of his fleas and a tiny bit of tics. Also, I wanted to know if those flea and tick collars really work on dogs and if they do, is (i think it's called) Hertz a good brand for my puppy.

My cat's kittens are 8 days old, and the cat seems to be doing a good job feeding them, but sometimes when she's getting ready to feed them she sits on them and at least one of them gets all her body weight on its liitle head. It cries but the mother doesn't seem to care. I cant always be there to prevent it. Any ideas?

We just adopted a cat who had a litter 8 weeks ago, when we got her we brought her to the vet at which point we were informed she was pregnant again. I'm worried that another pregnancy will take a toll on her and want to keep her healthy, is there anything I can do to help her, vitamins? I heard whole milk yogurt from someone?

we have gone to this park everyday for about two weeks now (in mi) and these foxes are in a small cage, very skinny, losing fur, spider webs everywhere, nothing in the bowls and they are dirty, cages look like they havent been cleaned in forever!!!

we met the guy, who donated them but he cant get them back, this zoo that the guy works for wants them.
he told us to talk to the city but he said it wouldnt do much good.
the park is public but i guess the petting zoo is privetly owned.

we talked to someone at the park and she was of no help said they were fine, just had a vet there, losing fur because of heat.

what can i do befor these poor things die!!!
