I heard a lot of stuff in the stores is actually crap and not that good for dogs. Does anybody know the names of any brands that are actually good for my pit.
I don't want no kibbles n bits crap b/c that stuff can jack up ur dog in the long run. I'm looking for something a little more natural

I have a 3 month old kitten. She went with me when I went to visit my family for new years. My mother in law?has a 9 month old male kitten, that is half mountain cat that doesn't really look like a kittten. My kitten is very small and playful. She's shy when she first meets new animals, cats especially, she usually hisses and arches her back. I wanted her to warm up to the male cat, so I put her in a room with him and all of her toys and shut the door. It wasn't until a couple days later when i was petting her and she walked away that I noticed her private was so red and irritated I couldn't tell which was her behind and which was her private. I looked closer to her private and it looks like her opening was penetrated by the male cat, her opening was still open, but today it's closed so it must have happened recently. Is there any other explaination for this? What do i do? Can she get pregnant?

I have a yellow lab, he's almost a year old and he sheds like crazy! There's hair everywhere. I give him baths, which I figure would help but I cna't bathe him everyday. Is there any way to stop the shedding without spending tons of money?

I just bought a baby bearded and my other 8 inch dragon attacked him. He bit him in the neck and tried to run eith him. Now the baby isn't walking properly and won't eat and is dragging his two back legs and one front leg.

What should I do? If he is suffering how do I end his pain? Can he live this way? Will he, as an adult, be able to eat, hunt, etc?

My hamster died a month ago. She was my first hamster. I cleaned out the cage and put it away for future use. I was walking by the pet store yesterday and went in to look at the hamsters. The sales guy told me that I would want to get a new cage for a new hamster. He said the old hamster's scent is on the cage. But, all the hamsters in the pet store were all in one big glass bin with each other's scents. Would it really matter to a new hamster? Would the old scent last that long on the cage? Should I wash the cage again? Was the sales guy just saying that as a marketing scheme to sell more cages?

Hi :) My neighbor got a male Bengal without papers (I have been raised around this breed all my life and could tell right away he was a pure bred bengal), anyway the question he wanted me to ask is~ this bengal cat got his normal female house cat pregnant and my neighbor is curious if the kittens are going to be worth any money....do any of you know? And dont worry I already gave my neighbor a huge lecture on being a responsible pet owner and the need to get his cats fixed...But he wont stop bugging me to ask this lol!

My mother-in-law has two pomeranians who she refuses to leash. Yesterday she decided to walk her dogs and one of her dogs ran into the middle of the street and was killed by a driver who never stopped. My mother-in-law was devasted, but was able to get the drivers plates. She feels she can bring legal action against this person. I told her she can't, because the dog was without a leash. Needless to say she will not listen to me. I don't believe she has any legal grounds to sue this person. I believe she was the negligent one and had she leashed her dog it would never have happened. I just feel she is fighting a lost cause. I do think it is sad the driver never stopped. I just believe nothing can be done am I wrong?

Our neighbour complained that are cats go in her garden, so we got her an ultrasonic alarm, that only cats and dogs can hear, which was quite expensive, and we even got her batteries, to operate it with.
6 months went by with no problems and now she came over and asked us to get her a second alarm because the first covers only 75% of her garden and she needs a second one to cover 100%.

My cats are not the only cats in the neighbourhood, other people have cats too. However, we got a second one for her, because as she said its our responsibility.
She is a lawyer and makes loads of money.
Should I have got her THE SECOND ALARM??
Or she should have got it herself??

I've researched that you can keep a hampster in an aquarium with a grate lid. I have a spare 20 gallon kicking around, but am wondering with an aqaurium, how on earth do you set up a wheel for them?

Also, for bedding, can I use newspaper pellets that are used with bunnies, and just add in some soft bedding materials? Or do I have to use pine?

Any hampster experinces positive or negative would be good too.

I live in an area that's in the suburbs but has some open space and trails in the neighborhood. I was told by someone that my dog could be taken from my backyard by a hawk or some other animal. Is that true and what do I have to look out for? Do I need to worry about possums and raccoons? What other airborne animals could take him? Can I never let him out in the yard by himself? Is it safe when he gets to be a certain weight? I don't want to lose my little guy.

He's a neutered 15 years old cat named Henry who is used to being an 'inside-outside' cat but has had to come in permanently since he is too old to be outside and various neighborhood cats were beating him up (in his own yard mind you). We've tried keeping him awake during the day, but we don't have much time to do that. We also tried playing with him before we go to bed to try and tire him out. So far nothing has helped. He paces and meows (a low, deep yowl) for 3 or 4 hours every night before settling down and finally getting some sleep.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I know puppies have easily discomforted stomaches but of course I'm a worried owner.
I left to take my fiance to his plane and when I got back my 2 month old pug puppy had pooed on the door of his kennel.
When I took him to go out, he not only pretty much sprayed his "number 2" out but also vomitted in the process of trying to poo more.
He's had another stool and its almost completely solid but I'm still on edge about this.
I don't know if maybe he was just nervous that we left him alone (he hasn't been left alone since we got him) and got an upset belly or if I should take him into the vet.
What do you think?
(I emptied out his water dish and food dish, cleaned them, and restocked them with fresh stuff)

I have noticed for a while that one of my degu's teeth are overgrown, especially now that I can compare them to my other degu's.

The problem is, there is lots of wood and apple branches for them to chew on, but he doesn't touch them, while the other guy is constantly chewing.

He seems to drool a lot, and it looks very uncomfortable, but he does eat and drink.. I just don't know why he's not chewing. What can I do about this?

Second, they both have bumblefoot from obsessive use of the wheel. It's a mesh wheel but when I noticed the bumblefoot I put duct tape around it to make a solid surface. But the bumblefoot isn't getting better, even though I'm cleaning it and there is no more mesh.

They are constantly on the wheel though and I feel like it would be mean to take it away from them. What should I do?
