long haired black cat with white (mostly black) she is an outside cat and every morning she greets us at the porch, meowing. This is day number 2 and no Marlo. It isn't like her to be gone like this, is it possible someone has picked her up it being Halloween? I just read something how they aren't letting people adopt black cats right now b/c of Halloween. I thought we lived in a good neighborhood. This is terrible

My Mum keeps her goldfish in a typical fishbowl on the windowsill. Tinker, her cat sits there watching the fish go round and suddenly will stick his paw in and flick the fish out of the bowl, then miaow. He doesn't try to eat the thing, he just flicks it out and attracts our attention so we can put it back again! He only seems to do it when we are there in the house and it doesn't seem to bother Mum. I've started putting a hairnet on the bowl but he claws it off! Any suggestions?

Ok guys, I've read for a while and I think I need to get the following:

1layer - flourite, for the plants to root

2layer - just a little laterite for nutrition

3 layer - any kind of gravel for decor purpose only

Is this correct... any recommendations?

I have a male cat that allowe kittens (brothers) to nurse on him, after the death of their mom.

and he nurtured them like his own, even though of course he could not produce milk.

Is that normal !!!!

I got my daughter this kitten. Turns out the poor thing wasn't even weaned, so he is about 5 weeks old. He poops and pees all over the house, on beds, rugs, anything soft. I lock him in the storage room alot, cause that's where the litter box is and he uses it then. I put him in the litter box lots and he runs out. My older cat uses the litter box and the little guy watches and goes in with him...

Putting litter boxes all over the house is not an option. I am pregnant, and need this stuff contained to a place I clean it up with gloves and a mask, and not be stepping on it.

My cat is four years old and in good health, except that he is prone to bladder crystals. I have to keep him on a special type of dry food for this and so that he can lose weight.
However, ever since my roommate brought home a kitten, my cat won't eat his own food. He'll eat the kitten's food, which isn't good for him. I've even switched brands of cat food and by the second serving, he's turning his nose up. He's more than willing to eat table scraps and come begging when I eat, so I know he has an appetite. Why won't he eat his own food? I know it's not stress because he and the kitten get along fine and even nap together. Thanks!

I feed this feral cat at my apt complex. When she sees me she is constantly rubbing herself against my legs even when I'm walking. When I walk faster she will hiss at me and scratch at my pants.. anyone know why she does this?
She also has a patch of hair missing and her skin looks infected there..her mouth does not hang open but her tounge sticks out very slightly. Could this mean she has rabies?

I have been looking for a puppy for awhile and finally decided on a pit. If anyone has one we have the perfect home for him. We were hoping he would be papered but if not no big deal. I will be able to take him in december or february. I just got a new house with a back yard so I can properly house a puppy.

Hi! We have two labs (hence the nick :p). Currently, we feed Iams, or if not available, store brand equivalent to Iams. But what's the best brand in your experience for a longer life for your dog(s)? Is there such a proven product?
Thanks!

My toy poodle is holding up her front leg. I don't know how she hurt it, she's an indoor dog for the most part.

When I manipulate the leg she wimpers a little when I touch (firmly) the area betweeen her paw and elbow. Otherwise not acting in pain, hopping on 3 legs when we take her potty.

Does it sound as if it is broken? How does a vet treat a broken leg? Do dogs wear casts?

I tried the training pads. For us, that is the worse thing I could ever have done. I never had a problem training a pup before, but since using those cheap little pads (very thin, too), she's always heading for the carpeting. I'm in a house with ALL WHITE CARPETING, with thick padding. Not by choice, just can't afford to buy yet. Anyway, kenneling did not help. Sounds dumb, I know, but I have a "frisbee" dog who jumps really high, but can't catch the frisbee! She jumps, and jumps, enough to get the kennel to tip and the tray to slide out, then get out through the larger holes in the bottom. Then I barricaded the kennel and got the tray to stay put with a lock on the front drop down door. Instead, she started chewing on the corners of the tray. Even when she got sick last week, she threw up, repeatedly on the carpeting. I locked her in my bathroom with a very tall gate. She started scratching at the 6 panel wood door, which opens inward. HELP!! WHAT CAN I DO. SHE CHEWS 2

He tells me that I am going to need to administer insulin shots twice a day every day. If your cat has diabetes, is this hard to do? How expensive is it?

I have an Applehead Siamese, a wedgehead Siamese and a Bengal, I want one more purebred cat but not sure what to get. It needs to be a shorthaired cat and pretty energetic.
I'm considering:
1) Tonkanese
2) Abyssinian
3) Snowshoe Siamese
4) Egyptian Mau

Does anyone have any experiance with these breeds? If so, will you tell me first hand about these cats?
