any suggestions

We just hit a dog in our car. I checked him over for broken bones and he appeared to be fine, although I could see a little blood on the pavement (it was hard to see as it was dark). The dog was an old labradore. I am worried incase he may have internal bleeding or something else which would lead to him dying a horribe death. Is there any 24 hour vets in Belfast who will treat stray dogs? Thanks.

I have a bunch of little aquariums/fishbowls but the only creature I can find suitable for these living environments are betta fish. They are mostly around the size of one-gallon, unheated, unfiltered tanks. I know no tropical fish would work but I have a zebra danio in one and it is doing fine. ( I know they're supposed to be in groups...I'm working on a way I can get him friends without giving him away). I have guppies in a ten-gallon heated tank - could they work in the smaller tanks? Please don't tell me to put goldfish in the bowl - I hear it's cruel. I'm thinking of something along the lines of white cloud mountain minnows and ghost shrimp. If I do get the white clouds, how many could I keep in a one gallon? Will these work? Any suggestions on other fish?

We were just given a doberman who will be 2 in January. They said that he was inside but got too big so they put him in a kennel outside. I don't know how long he was outside. What is the best way to house break him, I am mostly concerned about him marking his area in the house.

I'm looking for a lap dog to pamper and spoil. I would like one that is loving and happy to sit on my lap and not always running around. I don't mind brushing or giving special attetnion the dog needs; I have time. I want it to be happy to go in the car with me and happy to stay at home. I would like it to be small enought to go in a purse. And most important not too hard to house break. Any suggestions????

When I moved into the house I live in now, the owner said he was fine with cats and would probably charge a $300 deposit. There is nothing for or against pets in the lease. Recently I got a kitten and he just sent me an email today saying he wants $100 more a month in lieu of a deposit! That just seems exorbitant. That is a total of $1200 a year--there is very, very little chance the cat will do that much damage during the whole interim I live in the house, let alone in a single year. My question is, who else pays pet rent? How much do you pay? Did you also have a deposit? Also, what are my rights in this situation? He did not specify anything in the lease, so can he just raise my rent like that or...? Help!

I have two dogs and we just recently bought a new house. It turns out our neighbors are nuts - our dog barked at a passing neighbor dog and OUR neighbors are threateneing to call the police on us constantly. I don't want to but have no choice in trying to get my dogs to stop barking. My oldest dog is fine - he only barks at himself while chasing his tail. But I have a 4 month old german shpherd who believes he can sing all day. How old does he need to be before he can wear a shocking bark collar? And also, has anyone had sucess with the citronella collar?

we have 2 ferrets, Keawea Lea and Rascal Ranger. They are both 2 years old and are brother and sister cagemates that have never been separated. We are thinking of adopting a new baby ferret that comes with its own cage, although we eventually want to put it in with the other two because their cage is so big ( the biggest one they make). We are not sure of the gender of the new baby, but all 3 of the ferrets are Marshall ferrets, and therefore fixed and descented, so I dont think gender should be a problem. Boys do grow considerably bigger than girls though, so there is the possible issue if the new one is a boy of the two boys ganging up on the girl and hurting her. We also have an Australian Border Collie that plays with the two older ferrets, and Im not sure what to do if the dog( she is about 40 pounds) dosent like the new ferret as much as she liked Keawea and Rascal (she adopted them as her puppies and actually made milk for them when we got them) Any ideas on how to do it right?

The balcony is pretty standard: it's covered and there's a 3ft high rail, but there is still a very large opening between the roof and rail that a hawk can certainly fit through. There are not many hawks in the area I live in, but I have noticed a particular red-tailed hawk circling the area the last few days.
