bark when someone comes to the door. and oif he barks praise him and give him a small treat. rottwielers and staffordshire terriers are smart dogs so he should catch on soon.

i had a golden retriever who lived to 12 1/2 years old and NEVER barked once in his life
some dogs just wont
vet said there was nothing wrong with him
it was his personality
it is a fallacy that all dogs bark when someone is at the door
they may run to and sit by the door and thats all

Bark yourself everytime someone comes to the door. Your dog will eventually get the idea. I used to say, "get 'em" everytime I wanted my dog to bark at strangers and she started to bark. A lot of good it would do though - she would probably just lick an intruders face and roll over for him to scratch her belly.

TRY HAVING FRIENDS HELP YOU. HAVE THEM KNOCK AT THE DOOR AND THEN YOU PRETEND TO BE A DOG AND BARK LIKE CRAZY. SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT YOUR DOG PROBABLY LOOKS AT YOU AS THE LEADER OF THE PACK AND HOPEFULLY WILL COPY WHAT YOU DO. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL WORK. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF ANY ONE TRYING TO TEACH THEIR DOG TO BARK. REMEMBER TO PRAISE HIM EVERY TIME HE BARKS, THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO TEACH HIM TO STOP WHEN YOU KNOW IT'S SAFE. YOU COULD ALSO TRY TAKING HIMM TO ANOTHER DOGS HOUSE AND WHEN THAT DOG BARKS, MAYBE HE'LL START.
