My dog is a german shorthair and she is a good hunting dog, but she likes to find the stinkiest most awfull smelling stuff in the neighborhood and roll around in it. .whya does she do this and how can i stop her?

When my dad was younger, he said he seen hawks pick up rabbits and drop then in an open feild to kill them. then he said that he knew a guy that seen a hawk take either one of his lambs, or maybe a full grown sheep into the air and drop it to the ground. could this have happend? thanks!

I have a new puppy, Marty. He is a 2 month old Sheltie. However, he isn't potty trained and I am trying real hard to be patient. He will use puppy pads sometimes and sometimes he doesn't. I just bought a crate to try crate training. I have never had a dog that wasn't already potty trained. If you have dealt with this situation, please help me. Any suggestions on encouragement? How often to take him out? How long can he hold it? Oh, and to be a Sheltie is pretty big now, how big do they usually get?

I adopted a three year old half yorkie, half maltese that will not eat anything except table scraps. I got her about 5 days ago and she has had no shots. Is it safe to give her table scraps, and if not how can I get her to eat dog food? Please help?

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me why my bunny "chatters" his teeth when I pet his cheeks and he is relaxed. Is this a sign of contentment. Someone told me they do it when they are nervous, but we have a good bond with the bunny and he seems relaxed when it happens. Also, why does he grunt at me when I try to get him out from under the bed. Is it a display of aggression?

I am really really really REALLY scared of snakes. Ever since I was young I was afraid to even look at them in books/pictures. If I see a snake show I get night mares. One time the family next door said they saw a snake in the backyard. My mom told me they were probably kidding, but all night I couldn't sleep thinking that maybe it is inside my house. I even started crying!! When ever we go to animal stores I CANT go into the reptile section even if they are in cages. When my friends mess around and say that they are going to buy me a snake I get really scared and end up not talking to them.I am going crazy?!!?!

I tried to come up close with a snake and touched it and I almost fainted.

What should i do? Anyone else have this?

I breed Japanese Chin and have come across something in the last few minutes with which I have NO experience. I have a friend's female Chin; she delivered last Sunday. She should have never been bred, in my opinion, as all but 2 of her nipples are inverted. The puppies have been able to manage thus far with some assistance (me lightly pinching the nipples up every 2 hours so the pups could get the proper mouth positioning on them).

We were out a few hours today. When we came home (a couple of hours ago), she'd had diarrhea; however, she was fine in that regard earlier. I cleaned her and the baby room up and put the puppies on to nurse.

I just went to get her to take her out and, when i brought her back in and helped her to adjust and was helping the puppies to nurse, i found a very large, very hard lump under one of the nipples!

Anyone know what this is? As I said, i've never encountered this with any of my dogs and i need to know if this is an emergency.

Hey it is 10p.m. where I am can someone tell me why if I do not have $400 to shell out right this minute that makes me a bad dog owner. Seems to me a lot of people on here must be rich or something. In the REAL world Some of us cannot just shell out money at the drop of a hat..And besides that the dog is acting fine....more like she has an itch. If I thought it was life threatening I would definetly take her to a vet but I was just trying to get some SMART people's opinions (NOT SMART ACES-)Before I spent money that was not needed. Do not jump to the conclusion that I am a bad pet owner just because I asked an opinion and said RIGHT NOW I do not have the extra cash.But thanks very much to the people who answered the questions instead of condemning me for not rushing to the E.R.

I'll admit to being biased, but I'm feeling reasonably certain that my dog just might quite possibly be the best dog ever. Actually, I've said that about every dog I've ever owned. This one's a mutt I adopted from the shelter when she was a puppy. She's well trained and doesn't act out in ways badly according to some of the general complaints I read about. I'd like to say that that I'm some kind of a dog magician, but really, I just got lucky when I selected a good dog. Mostly, I just give her lots of exercise and treat her like a dog.

My dog(almost 11 mth old dachshund) has been crying and rubbing the side of her mouth on the floor and the furniture all day and it is swollen and her skin is like drooping down. ok .. after i feed all of them, i pee pee them so that they dont pee all over eachother. now lately, i noticed that there has been a little bit of blood coming out of some of their butts .. it usually happens when they are screaming to get down which looks like they are straining themselves .. is that normal? also when should i begin traing them with the litterbox? they are 1 1/2 weeks old..
