Beta Fish, also known as Saimese Fighting Fish. If you put one in calm water, you will notice a group of bubbles form on the surface, this is caused by the male beta fish. This is a "nest" that he creates where the eggs will reside until hatched. You can purchase special habitats with a divider that allow two male beta fish to live in the same bowl. The advantage of this is that the males see each other and fan their fins much like a peacock spreads his plumage, but cannot fight each other to the death. There are many different varieties of beta fish, and the males are remarkably beautiful.

It is the Siamese fighting fish or it is also called a Betta. You can only have one fish per tank or bowl, Male or female, They both will kill.
The female will even kill a male if they are in the same tank.
